The next morning. I woke up and Chris wasn't in the bed. He must've gotten up already. I looked at my phone and it was 8:30. I got up and I could walk. Thank god. I went to take a shower and change into black jeans and I white bralette, with a cream colored sweater. I put on the sneakers I had. All my boxes were still at my apartment these were clothes Lily had packed for me for the week. I went downstairs and ran into Alexis. "Alexis."

"Julie." She had a weird look on her face. "I'm guessing you heard last night." She laughed. "Julie I think everyone in this house heard you." Oh god. "Where is your brother?" She points to the door. His office or study whichever he prefers. "Have fun. Not to much fun we don't need a repeat of last night." I walked over and she went to her room. I knocked on the door to his office.

"Come in." I walked in. "Hey." He looked up and looked me up and down biting his lip. He went back to his computer. "How can I help you Julie?" This is gonna be weird. "Um I just wanted to talk. About last night."

He head shot up and he closed he computer and opened a file. "What about it." Is he serious. "Oh I don't know maybe the fact we had sex and then I wake to find you gone." "I had work I needed to do."

"That's a lie Chris and we both know it. You just don't want to talk about it because that means you need to talk feelings." Did last night mean nothing. "Look Julie last night yes we had sex. Get over it." "Get over it? Chris everyone heard us last night. I can't go anywhere in this house were people won't start whispering about me. But then again maybe that's what you wanted."

He closed the file and walked over to me. "I will talk to everyone who's hear okay?" "That's not what I'm saying Chris. Did last night mean nothing to you?" He lifted up my chin. "We can talk about this later." He let go of my chin letting it drop. "I have a meeting." Before I can speak one of his men open the door. "Sir the Russian Don is here." He nods and the guy closes the door. I look back at Chris. "The Russian Don. Chris your still meeting with him."

"I can't just tell him to leave Julie." There's something wrong with me. "No I know. I was just slut for last night. God Chris every time I think maybe you could change. Maybe we wouldn't have to hate each-other or have a mafia's against each-other you just go and prove me wrong. Once I find an apartment I'll be out of here. Enjoy your meeting." Before he could speak I walk out and run upstairs to my room. 

I called Lily and she was no fucking help. She just said I told you so. About an hour later I heard a knock on the door. I went to open it and saw Chris. "Great you, what do you want?" "I wanna talk and I want you to just listen."

I turn to face him and cross my arms. He closed the door which caused me to stand up straight. If he's just here for sex again he's got another thing coming to him. "I turned down the Russian Don's offer." Huh? "What? What do you mean." "I really hope I just made the right fucking choice Julie because this could end badly for both of us. He saw you here. Thinks were merging together." He turned down the Russian Don. For me?

"Why did you do that Chris?" Wrong words Julie. "Because of you. Would it be so bad if we did create an alliance together?" Fuck. I mess up everything I do. Fuck Fuck Fuck. "Chris. How would that even work what you would take over everything." Get it in your head Julie. Of course he would. "No we would both be in charge." What? "Both of us. Together?" "Yes. Together is the central idea. But maybe it would also make it easier with our personal life if we weren't fighting in our work life."

I thought he's work life was his personal life. It was all the same. Is he saying he wants us to be together. "What do you mean personal life. Dating?"

"I thought you were supposed to be smart Julie. Yes." Shit. No. No. No. I can't do this. He walked up to me and lifted my chin. "Julie?" I grabbed his arm and moved it looking down. "I can't Chris. I mess up any relationship I have." I could see the anger and hurt in his eyes. "Julie I turned down the fucking Russian Don for you. And now you don't do relationships."

"Chris I never asked you to turn down the Russian Don. That's why I wanted to talk to you but you wouldn't." I felt like I was on the verge of tears. "God Julie do you know how this is gonna effect us now. If the Russian Don finds out that I lied for you and to protect your mafia they'll come after both of us! And the people closet to us will get hurt!" We heard the door open and Alexis was there. "What Alexis?!"

"I'm sorry but your needed downstairs." He softens his tone. "Okay thank you. I'll be right down." She closed the door and walked away. He turned back tome and saw a tear fall down. He goes to wipe it but I move back. "Julie. I need to go see what's happening downstairs. We'll talk later." He left and I started crying. "God my fucking period must be coming." Me and Alexis went downstairs and nobody was home it was just the two of us. Guess he went to his warehouse. We where in the living room when we heard a bullet shot. We jumped up. 

I put my finger over my mouth singaling her to be quiet. I pulled out of gun from my back pocket. "Alexis were is the basement?" I whispered. "This door over here." We walked over to the door and opened it. I had her go down first. When we got down there I turned the light off and turned my flashlight on. "Julie how did they get here? Who are they?"

"I don't know who they are Alexis. But they must've either killed or knocked out the guards at the gate so were on our own. Call Chris." She took out her phone and dialed his number. "No answer." God. Please be okay Chris. "Well then were on our own." We heard a lot of noise. I turned of my flashlight. And told her to stay quiet. We heard muffled talking from upstairs. "We is she."

"Find the Blanch girl." "Yes sir." I looked back at her and she was crying quietly. I hugged her. I didn't want to risk talking and we heard gunshots. "Where are the girls?" We both knew that was Chris's voice. I went upstairs and opened the door a crack to make sure it was him. It was Chris and his men. Alexis ran over to Chris and I walked in and closed the door. There were three bodies in the living room. One by the front door and one in the kitchen. 

"Thank god your okay." He hugged her. He looked up at me. His men had went to search the rest of the property. I just nodded. "Were either of you hurt?" Alexis pulled away and looked at him. "No were fine. Julie had her gun and we waited in the basement. Once we heard your voice she made sure it was you before letting we came out." "Okay. Go upstairs." Alexis went upstairs. I put my gun back in my jean pocket were it was before. "Thank you for keeping her safe." I looked at her. "I wasn't gonna let her get hurt. Who were those people Chris and why did they want me?" 

"They were part of the Russian mafia. And the Russian Don wanted you because he wanted to kill you." So what I thought. I went down to one of the men. "Connor?" "Who's Connor?" I stood up. "Connor was one of my men. He was spying on me for the Russian Don this whole time. I thought I heard his voice. But it wasn't clear." 

Four of his men came in and told us the property was clean. Chris told them to remove the bodies and we went into his study. "I knew I should've left some of my men here." He looked like he wanted to punch something. "Chris they were able to get past the gates you would've just risked more men."

"And you two would've been safe." "We were. I kept her safe. Chris I didn't care what would've happened to me. You didn't answer your phone when she called. I was just hoping you got here in time and that you were okay." He walked up to me and pulled me into a kiss. "You and Alexis were the only two I cared about." 

"Well now what do we do?" "First we get more men and then we take down the Russian Don, together." He pulled me back into a kiss. We went upstairs and...
