"What do you want, Loki?" she said, her tone steely and clearly full of rage. Which made me start to think she noticed something caused by the bond. Oh, the more rage you have, the stronger your powers. So, Freya, time to get you raging.

~ Freya POV ~

"What do you want, Loki?" I asked, full of rage towards the man standing in front of me. Not because of his actions exactly, though they did make me angry; but because of this... feeling I was getting from being around him. Those closest word I could use to describe the feeling was that I had this yearning for him, and it was both confusing and infuriating me! How could I yearn for a villainous man I had never met until just now? It wasn't making sense!

"I know about your powers." He simply stated, a smirk dancing on his lips. I narrowed my eyes, trying to keep my rage down so I didn't lose my shit. I couldn't afford to lose my shit. Not now, and certainly not here.

"And your point?" I stated, unsure of where this was headed. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to know where this was headed either. He started walking towards me, making a face that looked very close to winking, and I was almost positive I wasn't going to like this.

"Join me." Loki said, and I blinked, both confused and surprised. What? Did he... did he seriously just ask me to join him? After invading New York and attacking my sister and the others? Was he insane? Looking at him, I wasn't sure that he wasn't.

"Excuse me?" I asked, hoping he would clarify why I would even contemplate joining him. I'm sure in another world, I might have considered it, but with his actions, he must know that his reason needs to be a damn good one to even consider.

"If you join me at my side, I will teach you about your power and help you get even stronger." Loki murmured, and I blinked. Okay, that was a damn good reason. It honestly caused me to hesitate slightly. He knew about my powers, and could help me learn them and get stronger... That was something I hadn't been able to do on my own for the past few years.

"You're really insane if you think I'd join the likes of you..." I trailed off, seriously contemplating his offer. I knew Nat would be enraged, but she had to understand. I don't have complete control, and Loki was offering to teach me that? It was tempting as hell.

"Don't you want to become even stronger? Have control?" Loki asked, clearly sensing that I was on the fence. I had no doubt that he knew I would decide whether or not he won this battle, or the Avengers did. But what I was still confused about was how he knew of me and my powers. I had this feeling he wouldn't just answer it unless I was on his side. So was joining him worth the answers, or no?

"Well, of course I do. But I would never join your side to achieve that." I finally said, making up my mind. I couldn't bring myself to betray Nat like that. As much as I wanted answers, I would find them on my own, like I've always done. I've never needed a man, and that certainly was still the case now.

"Are you really sure about that, love?" Loki asked, and at the pet name, I could feel my resolve slowly start to sway. Something about the pet name rolling off his tongue, knowing it was for me and me alone made my head begin to sway back towards possibly joining him. So much so I was beginning to question whether or not I should.

"I- uh..." I trailed off, trying to clear my head, but failing. Loki raised an eyebrow, clearly knowing something I didn't, and leaned forward expectantly, his smirk widening ever so slightly. Something about the notion pissed me off, but drew me in. I was swimming in confusion. What was happening right now?!

"Yes?" He prompted, and I felt more drawn to his offer. While I knew it would piss my sister off, I needed to learn control. Plus it could possibly explain why I felt so drawn to him the way I was. Before I could say anything, Nat spoke through the earpieces, bringing a much needed distraction.

"I can close it!" Nat said, and I blinked remembering the current situation. Right. Portal. Alien army. I sighed, and before I could say anything, Steve spoke up.

"Do it!" Steve all but shouted, but Tony was quick to interject, making me frown. I noticed Loki watching me curiously, but keeping quiet. He must have sensed that I was listening to the others through an earpiece. But why he was letting me still communicate was the thing that confused me most of all.

"Not yet. We have a nuke inbound, and I know exactly where to put it." Tony said, and my eyes widened as I realized what he was implying with that. If he did that, we would have to close the portal before anything came back down, meaning...

"You know that's a one way ticket, Stark..." I said, and Loki tilted his head, studying me curiously. I found myself staring at him, trying to get a read on him, and struggling to. Which was odd. I was usually quite good at understanding a person just from watching them. But Loki? He was different, and it intrigued a part of me making me want to know why that was.

"I know." Stark said, and I sighed knowing I should head to the roof to help Nat. I gave Loki a smirk, and he narrowed his eyes, clearly sensing that I was about to do something. Truthfully, I felt that Loki wasn't a terrible person. I think he just had constant bad news making him act out like this.

"Sorry, Loki. I don't think you're all that bad. Well, except for the whole trying to invade and rule Earth thing." I said, before firing a blast of my magic towards Loki, sending him flying backwards, and knocking him out. Once I was sure he was unconscious, I portaled my way to Nat who was standing by the Tesseract with Loki's scepter in her hand. I noticed a dude standing next to them, but I didn't care much for who he was. I looked around, before locking in on the nuke, with Tony holding it. He came towards the Tower, and suddenly he pushed it upwards, and through the portal. I held a breath, and watched as the ship that we could see through the portal exploded. Come on Tony... After a few moments of not seeing Tony, Steve made the call.

"Close it." Steve whispered, clearly wishing that Tony had made it. Nat shoved the scepter to the Tesseract, and there was a small energy repulsion. Flying my hands out, I absorbed all of that energy, and looked up to see the portal start to close. That's when I noticed something.

"Guys, he's falling!" I yelled out, recognizing Tony falling. Oh thank god... That's when we realized he wasn't slowing down. Meaning he was unconscious, or dead. Before I could use my magic to try and catch him to slow him down, Hulk jumped up, catching him, and dropped to the ground landing on his back. With a huff, he tossed Tony to the side where Thor and Steve rushed over. I portaled down to him, to see Steve check for a pulse.

"Tony! He's not breathing..." Steve said, leaning over Tony, and I let my hands spark as I stared at the idiot lying on the ground. He owed me big time for this. At least it wouldn't use up too much of my power, especially after absorbing some of the Tesseract which let me tell you packed quite the punch.

"Move it." I muttered, and everyone stepped back to give me room. I fell to my knees, and hovered my hands over the Arc reactor in his chest. Hoping this would give him a wake-up call, I placed my sparking hands on it, and pushed a bit into the reactor. Tony suddenly gasped, sitting up before looking around confused, then rested his head back down.

"Please tell me nobody kissed me." he muttered, and I couldn't help but chuckle at that. For being on the verge of death, he had to make a funny comment. I liked Stark. He was fun.

"Oh thank god." Steve said, and I grinned as I sat back on my knees, with the smallest shake of my head.

"You can't go dying on us like that, Stark. It makes the rest of us look bad." I joked, and he chuckled before looking upwards.

"You know, there's a shawarma joint. What is shawarma? Anyone want shawarma?" he asked, and I chuckled shaking my head before looking up towards Stark Tower knowing Loki wouldn't be unconscious for much longer. Before we did anything else, we needed to handle him.

"We're not done yet." Thor said, and everyone's gazes turned to Stark Tower. I almost felt bad for Loki... I got this sense that he was misunderstood, and because of that, he acted out to get the attention and recognition he probably is searching for. Loki... Why was I so damn drawn to you?
