Chapter 25

Matteo's pov

"Welcome to serenity"

Riley and i arrived at the cabin and i carried her in bridal style.

"This place is amazing"

"I know right"

"Also remind me of cabin in the woods"

"You win and you lose"

"Can you put me down now?"

I sat her down on the couch .

"What do you need?"

"Matteo you're not gonna badger me the whole time we're here"

"But i need to take care of you"

"How about we just have a relaxing self care weekend"

"Isn't that for women?"

"It's gender neutral"

I looked at her suspiciously and she gave me an innocent smile.

"Fine I'll do it where do we start"

"A nice hot bath"

"Im on it"

I got up and helped riley up as well .

"I can walk matteo"

"You sure?"

"Im sure"

"Can i atleast hold your hand?"

"Sure"

I took her hand and we went up to the bathroom and i ran a bath , i grabbed a bunch of candles and lit them and threw in some bath salts .

"Woah that bath looks amazing"

"Want me to change your bandage before you get in the water?"

"Yes please"

I took off her bandage and my hand traced her stitches .

"Matteo can we wrap this up my belly's starting to ache"

"Right"

I quickly changed the bandage , i picked her up and placed her in the bath . She sucked in a breath as i imagine the water is going against her wound .

"You okay?"

"I'll be even better if you get in with me"

"Fine but no funny business"

"Promise" she chuckled .

I took of my clothes and joined her im the bathtub .

"Can you get behind me so i could lay on your chest?"

"Stop i almost came"

She plafully smacked my chest and i moved behind her and she layed her head on my chest , i wrapped my arms around her and kissed her cheek .

"Im so glad to have you in my life amore"

"Me too lobster"

We went back to cuddling and i hummed a song and her eyes fluttered close . I ran my fingers across her tummy .

"Im definitely gonna test out that possibility" i whispered .

After about an hour the water got cold so i decided to get out . I picked riley up and carried her to the bedroom , i layed her on the bed and i went and put on some boxers .

I opened riley's bag , took out her sweatpants and oversized shirt , dried her off and the her clothes on . I opened up the bed, placed her in it and put the covers over her .

I kissed her forehead and went to the kitchen and decided to warm some lasangna . The chef always keeps frozen food here .

I decided to let lox know that riley's okay .

"Capo sta bene?"

Translation : Boss is she okay

"Sì, sta dormendo, il dottore ha detto che c'è la possibilità che non rimanga incinta"

Translation : Yeah she's asleep , the doctor said there's a possibility that she won't get pregnant

"È orribile"

Translation : That's horrible

"Sì, ma lei lo sta affrontando bene, immagino"

Translation : Yeah but she's dealing with it fine i guess

"Terrò fermo il forte finché non avrai voglia di tornare a casa"

Translation : I'll hold down the fort till you feel like coming home

"Grazie lox"

"No problemo"

I ended the call and started eating when i heard tiny footsteps . I looked up and saw riley rubbing her eyes and yawning .

"Why aren't you sleeping?"

"I smelt food" she stood in between my legs.

"You want me to warm some for you?"

"Yes please" i got up and took out more lasagna and warmed it .

I turned around and saw riley eating my food .

"Riley"

"It was calling out to me"

I gave her a kiss when i heard the microwave go off and i went and took out the lasagna.

"Yay" riley clapped her hands .

"Nope this is mine now you can have that"

"But babe" she pouted .

"Not gonna work eat your food"

She stood up and went to the fridge and took out a tub of chocolate pudding.

"I wouldnt do that if i were you"

She ignored me and poured the pudding all over her lasagna. 

"I can't watch this" i went and poured me a glass of whiskey .

"Matteo!"

"What?"

"This doesn't taste good"

"I warned you"

She put the plate back in the fridge .

"Time for bed?"

"Let's go"

She put her arm around my waist, i put my arm around her shoulders and we went up to the bedroom .
She got into the bedroom and sprawled out on the bed .

I joined her in bed and put my arms around her .

"Goodnight lobster"

"Goodnight lobster" she kissed my cheek and closed her eyes .
