UNREQUITED LOVE

Chapter- 2

It's been 5 months since I joined AI. My friendship with Naomi and Austin has grown very much. I've also made some more friends. Ashley Scotch is in my literature team and we have a lot in common, also there is Alex Benjamin who is also in my literature team.

Naomi and Austin know them very well so all 5 of us hangout together.

Today we had a little more free time then the rest of the day so we planned to go watch a movie together. Our Maths class just ended and everyone was busy talking with each other. Austin and Alex came near my seat and stood there talking to Naomi and Ashley.

Miss Holland suddenly came to our class and told us to take our seats. All of them went back to their respective seats and were staring at Miss Holland.

"Class, I have an announcement to make." Miss Holland continued.

"Today we have a new transfer student in our class."

Naomi was continuously whispering that if the new student was a boy or a girl and i was telling her repeatedly that you have a boyfriend Naomi. It doesn't matter if the new student is a boy or a girl but she was so damn excited so i was like "yeah whatever, suit yourself."

"Come inside dear." Miss Holland looked at the door and said.

All eyes were on the door. Everyone was watching eagerly to see who this person was.

As I stretched out my neck I saw a beautiful face occurring in front of me. He was tall, around 183 cm, had a perfect jawline and a perfect figure. He was so damn fine that it was unbelievable that he was around my age. I kept staring at him continuously.

"Markus, introduce yourself to the class."

"Hi everyone. I'm Markus Thompson. I recently got shifted from New Jersey to Canada. Hope we get along well."

Markus. He had such a beautiful name. Even his voice was so soothing. He was perfect.

He sat beside Austin. I peeked at him and he caught my eyes. I looked away. He probably smiled, I did not see it properly.

All the classes were over. Me, Naomi and Ashley were waiting for Austin and Alex to join us at the school entrance.

I was scrolling through my instagram and I saw Austin posting a picture of him with Markus. I was once again mesmerised by Markus' face.

I heard Alex screaming my name from a distance so I looked only to see Markus appear with them. As soon as I saw him appearing in front of me my heartbeat started increasing.

As they were approaching us I was getting nervous. I didn't exactly know what that feeling was but whatever it was it was a strong feeling.

"Umm...do you guys mind if Markus joins us?" Austin asked.

"Sure. We don't mind. It'll be fun if there are more people." Naomi said and Ashley agreed.

"What about you Erica?" Alex asked.

"Umm....Sure why not." I said with a hesitant voice.

"Great! Let's go!" Austin said.

"Oh... by the way Markus, I haven't introduced them to you." Alex said.

"This is Naomi Kurt. The popular girl of our class and also Austin's girlfriend." Alex started introducing us.

"Hi Naomi"

"This is Ashley Scotch. The most annoying creature of our class."

"Hey!! How can you call me a creature!" Ashley said while giving him a death stare.

"And this is Erica James. She is everyone's favourite person."

"Hi Erica." Markus said with a smile on his face.

We went to Alex's place. He had this room in his basement where we could watch movies and play games. Damn, Alex was rich!

He had a mini theater. His mom brought us some drinks and snacks so that we could munch on them while enjoying the movie.

The movie which we chose to watch was "Romeo and Juliet"- a classic romance movie.

We sat on the sofa. Naomi and Austin sat together, Ashley and me were sitting together and Alex beside Markus.

As the movie was playing my eyes kept shifting from the screen to Markus' face. I was able to see Markus' expressions every time the scene changed. His smile, his laugh, his sad emotions and everything was attracting my heart.

As soon as the movie got over I took my cell phone out to see the time. It was 8 pm. My curfew was till 7:30pm and I exceeded it for half-an-hour. I was so damn sure my mom would be standing outside the door with a knife in her hands.

I told Alex that it was getting late so I'll take my leave first.

I took my bag and started walking home.

As I was walking home I realised that someone was following me. I started panicking. I started walking faster. I was scared to hell. The person was still following me. I started running but the person who was following me also started running after me. Suddenly he pulled my bag and I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Leave me! Leave me!"

"I'll call the police!!! Leave!! Let me go!!!"

I started screaming and hitting the person.

"Erica! It's me, Markus."

As soon as I heard the name Markus, I looked up to see his face.

It really was Markus.

"Markus! Why the hell were you following me!?"

"I was going home and I saw you walking in the same direction so I thought of coming up to you so that we could walk together but you started running so i started running after you and then you know the rest of the story."

"Oh my god Markus! You scared the hell out of me."

"Sorry Erica. I didn't mean to scare you. But don't you think walking alone at night is not safe?"

"Yeah, I know that. Usually I reach home by 6:30 or 7:00. Today I exceeded my curfew. Yeah."

"Oh...By the way, you live on the next street?"

"Yeah. What about you? Where do you stay?"

"Me too. I live on the next street."

"Wow! That's great. This means we'll get to see each other very often."

"Yeah!"

After hearing that we both live on the same street I was so happy that I felt like screaming with joy. I wanted to dance like a mad person. I was so damn happy. I mean that was the happiest thing I got to know today.

We started walking. Talking about stuff like his previous school and what were the things that he liked.
