I walked towards Nicholas. I could not afford to get hurt anymore. After what happened yesterday I don't think I would be able to go with Markus.
"Let's go Nicholas." I said.
He nodded. He took my bag and opened the door for me. I sat inside his car. I saw him going over to Markus and whispering something to him. After he was done he came inside and drove us to the school. I looked out from the window as he was driving.
"What's wrong Erica? You don't feel well?" He asked.
"Nothing. It's just that I feel really bad about yesterday but I'm grateful that you helped me and dropped me yesterday. Even though we've met not a while ago, you've really helped me a lot."
"Whoa whoa whoa, just stop. Don't be this grateful. You are making me feel embarrassed. I only did what I thought I should do."
"Whatever the reason is, Thanks." I said with a smile.
I actually felt comfortable with Nicholas. He's a nice guy.
We reached school. He helped me get out of the car and walked me to the class. He helped me sit on the chair. Naomi helped me keep my bag.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
"Better."
"That's great to hear...by the way, you came with Nicholas?"
"Yes...he helped me yesterday and came to pick me up today morning. Guess he was scared I'd twist my other leg too." I said sarcastically.
She started laughing. Not soon after we arrived, I saw Markus enter the class. He was looking in my direction. I turned my face to the other side. He went and sat on his seat.
The lunch break got over and our teachers gave us the remaining classes for rehearsals for the Fest. As the bell rang the class got empty. I was alone in the class. Natasha had to go with Austin to check out Austin's booth, so did Alex and Ashley.
I sighed and tried getting up on my own but it was too painful. The doctor said that it'll be painful for quite a few days so I have to bear the pain.
No one was there so I tried calling Nicholas but he was not picking up his phone. I gave up and once again tried getting up on my own. Suddenly someone held my hand. I turned around to look and found that it was Markus. I kept looking at him. As I was looking at him, he helped me stand up.
"Th-Th-Thanks." I said.
"Come, let me help you walk."
"No need. I can walk by myself."
"Yeah, I know you can but still. Let me help you."
I looked at him and then looked down.
He kept holding my hand as we walked through the hallway.
"Erica..." he suddenly said my name.
"Y-Yes?"
"Are you still mad at me?"
"Mad for what?"
"Mad because I didn't come that day to pick you up?"
"Oh that....I already told you that I forgave you"
"Then why did you go with Nicholas this morning and not with me?"
I paused for a while.
I wanted to tell him to think about all the times he hurt me. After all that, how can he expect me to go with him? But I did not say this.
"I went with him because he dropped me yesterday and how can you expect me to ride a cycle with my twisted ankle?"
"Is that so?"
"Yes. That's it."
"So...are we good now?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied.
We reached the auditorium. For the whole day Markus was roaming around me, taking care of me. I was really very happy but deep inside I knew that I would be in really bad pain if Markus starts ignoring me. He was just being there with me probably because he was feeling guilty about what he did the other day. Probably he was just making up for me by taking care of me the whole day. At that time I was happy as well as sad. I had mixed emotions running through me. Pain, sorrow, happiness, joy...every single emotion was messing up with me.
