I'm not dead!
Welcome to Summer, where I may post more often if summer work doesn't drown me by tomorrow.

I talk a lot about Flames and such here. I don't know if the stuff is Canon but for this story, these are the rules I'm going by. Some of the stuff comes straight from the wiki though so.... don't hate too much.

But just because I'm not dead does not mean that characters are safe. Into the murder game, we dive.

Tsuna sat on his bed, thinking about the death of his new peers. Some of the others came around earlier, mentioning something about a new floor, but he sent them on without him. He keeps hearing the sound of the pitching machine and thinking of the sound of it hitting flesh.

He shakes his head. Think happy memories...

The sound of a baseball striking a bat sounds through the area.

"Wow, Takeshi! I think that was farther than your record!"

Kind brown eyes look back at Tsuna. "Of course, Tsuna! I'm practicing with you!"

Tsuna smiles but it starts to waver Takeshi begins to look mischievous. "Say... Tsuna... Do you wanna try?"

Tsuna's eyes widen and he takes a step back. "Takeshi, you know I'm a terrible hitter. Last time we played, I managed to make my bat go  out of the fence... on the opposite side of the field."

Takeshi just smiles. "You just need a good teacher!" He pulls Tsuna up to bat and moves the wood into his hands. Takeshi moves around him, correcting stance, then moving to the machine in the field. He moves it to the side and gets in position to pitch.

Tsuna gets ready and the ball comes racing at him. He swings... and ends up missing completely and imitating a tornado before landing on his bottom.

Takeshi rushes over to the pink faced sky and helps him up. "See, I can't hit," Tsuna claims, dejected.

Takeshi moves him back to the plate. "Nonsense. I didn't expect you to." When Tsuna starts to protest, he interrupts him. "I wanted to see where you were at. How can you help someone if you don't know what they need?"

Tsuna stares at the rain, struck by the sudden wisdom. He lets Takeshi move him back into position and explain that he swung to early and didn't set his feet.

Takeshi moves back but not nearly as far. "I'm going to toss the ball from here. You just try and hit it. Don't worry about where it goes or even how far. Just remember: Keep your feet firmly planted on the ground."

Tsuna smiles at the memory, rubbing the sudden ache in his chest. They had ended up spending an hour working before Tsuna could hit a ball into the outer field. Takeshi ended up giving him this wide smile before declaring that he was going to make so sushi tomorrow for lunch to celebrate.

He still feels a little flustered after the trial. In moments like this, at home, he would end up tracking down his rain and dragging him to do something. Takeshi was every bit the rain he ended up calming anyone around him.

Tsuna shook his head. Why am I thinking of him in past tense?! I'm going to get home to him and the rest of them. They're okay!

Getting up, he realized that staying in that room meant that he was falling deeper into memories. He didn't want to think about him right now, knowing how much he doesn't rely on others. He moved to place a hand on the door handle.
