"Mom what's that?" Yosohn asked while pointing to the scar on my thigh. We were sitting outside in the backyard watching Tristan and Tyler play basketball with Baby, Dave and Choppa.
"It's a boo boo baby" I said and he nodded while rubbing his small hand over my scar. I looked over at Kayla who was staring off into space, Jayla was talking to Jayda and Millie was sitting by herself while on her phone. Dave told me that he wanted to keep his eyes on Millie so she's staying with us until the baby is born.
"Yooooo! Baby mama come get your man yo! This nigga cheated!" I heard Tristan yell as he ran over to me all sweaty. I scrunched my face up and pushed him away because he tried to hug me.
"Wowww baby mama you gon do me like that?" He said while putting his hand over his chest. I laughed and blew him a kiss. Dave walked over to Millie and rubbed her belly. I got up and walked into the house with Kayla behind me, I felt Kayla wrap her arms around me and lay her head on my back.
"Can we go for a ride?" She asked and I nodded while turning around to look at her.
"Yeah let me go change" I told her and she nodded while letting me go. I walked out of the kitchen and jogged upstairs, I went into my room and grabbed a pair of jeans putting them on. I grabbed my car keys off of the dresser and walked out the room going back downstairs. I saw Kayla taking pictures in the mirror that was downstairs. I walked over to the door and put my orange and white 11's on while grabbing my purse, I looked in my purse and grabbed my phone, I saw Dave walk into the living with Yosohn behind me.
"Come on Kayla" I said while walking out the door, I walked over to my car and got in while starting the car. I put my phone on the charger and went to my music app pressing shuffle, Slow Jamz By Kanye West started playing as Kayla got in on the passengers side.
"Dave said next time you walk out the house without saying bye to him he's going to fuck you up" She said while putting her seatbelt on, I rolled my eyes and pulled out the driveway and driving off. I leaned back while driving and hummed to the song.
"Can I be honest with you?" Kayla asked and I glanced over at her while nodding. She took a deep breath and turned in her seat looking at me.
"I remember seeing one of mommy's boyfriends touch you, I went to get something to drink and saw him feeling on you. I just wanna know why mommy would let men take advantage of you? & how did you deal with it? because after what Quincey's boy did to me it's just like I don't ever wanna be touched by no boy ever again" She said while wiping tears from her eyes. I sighed and turned the music down a little while pulling up to an abandoned building. I parked my car and sat back while looking at Kayla.
"Kay I never wanted you or Jayla to see or go through what I've been through and seen. Mommy did drugs heavy like real heavy... she even tried to drug y'all up when y'all were around 4 years old but Kross stopped her. When mommy was sober she would apologize to me and let me know that she loved me, but when she wasn't sober it's like she didn't have any care in the world. I dealt with it by crying and smoking, Auntie Shirley wanted me to try therapy but it's like why go to therapy? I didn't want someone telling me how I'm suppose to feel & I felt that like why am I telling a stranger what's going on in my life? so they can lowkey judge me and go home to their family and tell them my business? I was good off of that. Tae and Jayda were my support system as well, especially Jayda" I said while staring at her, she was in tears and held my hand.
