Hogwarts was bigger than you thought it was. Trying to find where your classes were was even more difficult when whispers followed Harry Potter everywhere he went. People queued outside classrooms to get a look at him or doubled back to pass him in the corridors again, staring. Which irritated you to no end since you got pushed 4 times and it was just the first day. You were very tempted to freeze the girl who pushed you into the wall and didn't even say sorry. But you just scowled at her and tried to pass through the crowd.
There were a hundred and forty-two staircases at Hogwarts: wide, sweeping ones; narrow, rickety ones; some that led somewhere different on a Friday; some with a vanishing step halfway up that you had to remember to jump. You almost fell through one if it weren't for a Hufflepuff helping you. Then some doors wouldn't open unless you asked politely, or tickled them in exactly the right place, and doors that weren't really doors at all, but solid walls just pretending.
'Honestly, they should give first-years maps so we don't get lost every time-' You thought while trying to figure out which way was the Great Hall.
Filch's Cat, which was named Mrs. Norris, could be seen hanging around Stripey. You found it weird, to say the least, but then again, if you were a cat, you wouldn't want to stay in a room all day. Sebastian was still mad at you because of Stripey. He believed you were replacing him (which you weren't). When you arrived at Hogwarts, the first thing he did was, fly back home. But you knew he would come back around.
The lessons were just... okay. You were surprised when you found yourself interested in Potions. For a first-year, you were decent at it. And when you handed your potion to Professor Snape after your first lesson he told you it was "acceptable" which coming from him was definitely a compliment. Transfiguration was a bit difficult for you. After taking a lot of complicated notes, you were each given a match and started trying to turn it into a needle. By the end of the lesson, the only thing you could do with it was to turn it a silver-ish color while sitting beside Raven who had a proud smile on her face because she could turn the match into a needle. The class you were actually looking forward to was Defence Against the Dark Arts. But it was taught by Quirrelmort who took 5 minutes just to get one sentence out. And his classroom reeked of garlic, which someone said was to ward off a vampire he'd met in Romania and was afraid would be coming back to get him one of these days. Yeah right, as if someone would believe that.
You were just sitting in the Great Hall eating your breakfast on a nice sunny Friday.
"What have we got today?" Aiden asked as he poured sugar on his porridge.
"Charms and Herbology before the break and then Astronomy at midnight. " Raven said looking over her timetable.
"I was thinking of actually sleeping tonight. Just great. " Aiden grumbled while you just glanced in his direction and said, "You say that all the time."
"I agree. You read books instead of going to sleep at night." Raven nodded her head while putting her timetable back in her bag.
It seemed like Aiden was about to say something but just then, the mail arrived. Sebastian hadn't brought you anything so far. He was still angry at you. This morning, however, he fluttered down between the marmalade and the sugar bowl and dropped a few letters onto your plate. You patted his head ( while he tried to bite you) and said,
"Are you not angry with me anymore?" To which he replied by turning his head away from you and flying away. 'Guess he still is...'
You got three letters. From Fuyumi, Natsuo, and - Him. You crumpled the letter which was written by your father and shoved it into your bag. You could throw it away later.
