Even the sun sets in paradise - [Jacob Black X Reader]

VII

When we got to the Cullens' house Jacob seemed more on edge than normal.

"Are you okay baby, " I asked before we got out of the car.

"Yeah, I'm good. Let's just go in." When we walked in the place was decorated from floor to ceiling. I grabbed Jacobs's hand and hooked my fingers around his. When we finally found Bella she was freaking out. Jacob asked me to sit down and let him and Bella have a conversation. I sat on the stairs and waited. A minute or so later they walked back and everything was fine. Until Alice got a vision.
When Jacob finally got to know what was wrong he was angered to know the truth.  Edward told us that the newborn army was on its way and would be here within three days. They also planned how they would be dealing with it.

There was one point in the night where Edward asked Jacob to stand aside with him. There was a short conversation and they were both right back. I sat next to Jake and listened. I was trying not to freak out. Jacob wanted to go fight a bunch of newborns and I was scared he would get hurt.

By the time the party was over it was nearly two am. Jacob and I went back out to my car, both exhausted. "Jake, can I ask you a question?"

"Yes, baby?"

"What did Edward say when he pulled you aside?"

Jacobs's face got very serious, "well y/n, " he paused. "Your mom and Mark did end up going to Seattle. They were in a bad part of it while the vampires were there and they got turned." My face was full of emotion and then not at all. I didn't know how to feel.

"So does that mean I'm in danger too?"

"Yes. So while the pack and I are fighting you'll be sitting with Edward, Seth, and Bella on the mountain."

I laid my head on his shoulder, "Can we go home?"

"Of course we can." Jacob drove us home, the ride was very quiet. When we got home I was very close to sleep. We walked into the house and I went straight to Jacob's room, changing into the same shirt I had been wearing last night. I didn't even think to worry about Jacob, that was until I turned around and saw him staring at me like a little puppy dog.

"You wanna fight, " I asked.

"As a matter of fact, I do, " he said, getting up and lunging at me. He grabbed me around my waist, tipping me back over his shoulder.

"Jacob put me down, " I shouted as he spun us around. Eventually, he got dizzy and both laid down on the bed. I crawled under the blanket and laid on my back. Jacob took this as a sign to lay his head on my chest. I ran my fingers through his hair as his warmth once again lulled me to sleep.

In the night I heard a loud crash, like a window breaking. It jerked Jake and me awake. He jumped up grabbing a baseball bat from his closet. "Y/N RUN, " he exclaimed. I ran around the corner to see my mom and Mark attacking Jacob.

"NO, " I cried at the sight. When my mom looked up at me you saw a look of delight fill her face. She ran over to me, pinning my arms back holding my head so I stared at the two men as they wrestled outside where Jacob shifted. Mark got around Jake into one of his blind spots before he could get a hold of him. When he grabbed Jake a cry emerged from him. I tried to break free of my mother's grasp, it was no use. I couldn't help him. His horrible screams made tears stream from my eyes.

That's when Jake shook me awake. I shot up in bed, my face was wet and my hands were shaking profusely. I didn't even realize I was crying till I wrapped my arms around him and he asked me why I was crying.

"My mom... she was holding me back I couldn't get to you," I started crying harder.

"Baby it was just a dream. I'm perfectly okay."
"It felt so real, " I held him tighter. "You were screaming in pain and she held me away from you." He held me till I stopped crying. Once I wasn't so hysterical I explained my dream to him.

He held me tightly in his arms, "I'm okay, love. I would never let anything hurt you. I promise."
When he said that it put my mind at ease. I felt safe again. Eventually, I was able to get back to sleep but not for long.

When I was woken up the next morning, Jacob was telling me to get dressed. We were going to move all of my stuff out of my mom's house.
"The pack will be here soon baby. I need you to get up," he said, trying to pull me out of bed.

"Ugh fine, " I sat up and stretched. I got up and grabbed a pair of jeans, a tank top, and a pair of socks. I got dressed and ready relatively quickly. It looked pretty clear outside and like it wouldn't rain much.

"You ready baby," Jacob came and wrapped his arms around me.

"Yeah," I paused. "I just don't see the point, I mean she's a vampire. So in two days when all of the newborns are all dead, she'll be dead with them. This is hard because she is my mom, but I've supported myself for the last two years. She hasn't been much of a mom, more like an acquaintance that takes money from me. I just don't see why I can't just resume living how I did."

"Is that what you want?"

"Yes. I mean my dad left the house to me anyway. Once I turn eighteen it will be completely mine."

"Okay, then I'll call the pack and let them know," he said, turning around to go call Sam. I laid back down on the bed, till he came back twenty minutes later.

'What took so long," I joked.

"Bella called, apparently the bloodsuckers want to have training sessions for the next few days because we've never fought newborns."

"Okay let's go then." So Jacob grabbed the keys to his bike and my helmet and we were off. After a few minutes of driving, Jacob took the bike off the road and down a path. When the path came to an end Jacob parked the bike and we were greeted by the pack in their wolf form.
