Jake's POV:
Kylie has fallen asleep with her head laying on my chest as I run my fingers through her hair slowly. Once in a while, I pepper her face with soft butterfly kisses. I hear a knock at the cabin's wooden door. I ignore it but the person behind the door knocks again. I sit up slowly, putting Kylie's head on a pillow. I walk over to the door, opening it quietly to see Frankie. She nods for me to come outside so I close the door quietly behind me as I step out.
"What's up?" I ask crossing my arms over my chest, it's getting dark and it's chilly out.
"So I had something to tell you," She says fiddling with her hair. I nod for her to continue. "I have no idea if you have interest, but I wanted to put it out there that I have a thing for you," She says after a deep breath.
Well, I was defiantly not expecting to hear that from my best friend. "Frankie..." I start and shake my head. "I'm sorry but you know Kylie and I are kind of something already," I say trying to let her down easily. A flash of hurt crosses her face, then what looks like anger before she covers it with a smile.
"Don't worry about it," She says and spins on her heels, walking away.
I watch her go in confusion before shaking my head and going back inside. "Who was that?" Kylie mumbles as she sits up, stretching.
"Frankie," I say as I approach her, she instantly looks jealous. "What'd she say?" She looks up at me as I stand at the foot of the bed.
"It's weird, she confessed actually," I shrug. "What'd you say?" She keeps asking.
"That I'm with you," I respond holding her chin and placing a soft kiss on her lips. She pulls back and looks up at me with a hint of worry in her eyes.
"You are?" She asks and I nod. "So we are..." She trails off and I chuckle.
"We are a couple. Because I'm yours and your mine, understand? No one else's." I clarify and she nods with a smile before pulling me back down, wrapping her arms around my neck, and pressing her lips to mine.
I could definalty get used to this.
Alisha's POV:
I open my eyes slowly, blinking away the blurriness to see Julian staring back at me. My eyes widen when I realize how close he is, mostly because I'm wrapped around him. I back up and push him away at the same time.
"There's another bed you know," I sit up.
"Well you wouldn't exactly let go of me," he says standing up keeping his eyes on me. "You didn't have to stare like a creep," I fire back getting up.
He shakes his head with a faint smile played across his lips. "Grab a jacket, they are going to give us our first activity to do," He slips on a hoodie over his head and walks out the door. Yeah don't wait for me jeez-
I quickly put on a zip-up jacket and walk out to the large group that is formed in a circle. I walk up next to Julian in the front row, the light from the campfire illuminating on everyone's face.
"So everyone, you and your cabin-mate will be competing against everyone else in these activities." The head coordinator announces. Julian reaches down for my hand, intertwining our fingers and putting them in the pocket of his hoodie. I look up at him to see him looking forward at the staff.
"Today's activity is a scavenger hunt," Some people come around handing cards out to every 2 people, I take the card for us. "Find your item first and be here to win, and no going off too far into the woods. And no canoodling."
Everyone looks at their cards and disperses with their partners to find their item. Our item was a painted red pinecone, like that'll be easy to find in the dark.
We walk through the woods in silence, our hands to ourselves this time. I shine my flashlight forward to see Katie's face, jeez that's scary-
"So you guys are together huh?" She eyes both of us. "Yes, we are," Julian nods wrapping an arm around my waist.
"So why hasn't anyone seen you guys kiss?" She asks looking between us suspiciously. "She's sick" "He's sick," We both say at the same time making her look at us even weirder.
"Yeah I'm sick I mean," "Yep I'm sick," We both say again, I look at him annoyed. "What we mean is we're both sick." He says flashing a tight smile at her. Katie rolls her eyes and walks the other way away from us, once she's out of view we both let go of each other quickly.
"You think you need a plan now?"
