Waking up wasn't as much fun but it still had it's perks. It was the weekend so I was ok with waking up at 1 pm. It's still late even for me. I decided to go downstairs still in his shirt and boxers. He wasn't upstairs or downstairs. So than I decided to go on an adventure to find him. Opening doors and looking in ones that where open. Than I came to the last door. It had a new looking door so I slowly knocked on the door waiting for a "yes?" But than I heard a "GO AWAY PLEASE!"
I knocked again and heard a loud sigh "IT'S ADRIAN. CAN I COME IN?" In a second I heard the door unlock and open. And there he was standing with a smile on his face. He let me in and I sat down. I had my phone in my hand because I had been using the flashlight on it to look in rooms. As soon as I sat down I got a call. I flipped my phone over to see that I was getting a call from Meredith. She was an older lady that I had worked for when I was younger.
I answered. "Hello? Adrian is this you?" I smiled just hearing her voice it brought back so many memories her and her husband Tyler where troublemakers. These two old goons having fun like kids. I missed them. "Yeah Meredith it's Adrian. How are you?" "Adrian, Tyler died a month ago. And I've been having problems running the shop. Everyone else is to old to run it and your still in your prime. My kids don't want the weight of a shop on their shoulders. I was wondering if you would like to take the shop into your own hands?"
I felt a tear roll down my cheek. Tyler was like the grandpa I never had. And Meredith oh god I feel horrible for her. They where so in love, like two kids with puppy love. "Well Meredith I'm in New Zealand, we just moved here. But if my parents will let me fly back, I'll come back. I miss that place more than anything." Karl was staring at me as I talked well crying. "I'll pay for your ticket back honey, your 18 you can come even if your parents don't want you to." I smiled at her response.
She always tryed to get me to do what I wanted. She knew I was to attached to my old home to stay away for long. Karl looked at me. "Well listen Meredith I'll talk to my parents and see whats gonna happen. Hopefully I'll be able to come back. I miss you and our town." She said ok and hung up. And Karl just kept staring at me.
"What?" I finally asked and he laughed and looked to the side. "I should have known you weren't gonna stay." I looked at him in shock. "Karl you don't understand what those people and that shop meant to me, actually what it means to me. It means the world to me. I grew up in that shop. Those people where like the grandparents I never had. They always looked out for me no matter what. And to go back to my hometown, that's all I want-" he cut me off
"All you want?" He asked as he looked back up at me. "Other than you." He laughed and looked back at his computer. I slammed it shut and he jumped back looking at me pissed. "OTHER THAN YOU! Did you miss that part?" He got closer to me and harden his face "Your just a kid you don't know what you want." I looked at him shaking my head. "You know what, yeah I am just a kid. But I know one thing. You are who I want to spend the rest of my life with. As stupid as that sounds. It's you. Karl it's you. And if you can't except that, than good I will leave for my hometown and don't expect to see me again as long as you live."
