chapter 7

I left. I didn't tell Karl when I was leaving. He never made it a point to apologize about what he said. I had just left his house leaving In his clothes. I left mine in his bathroom for him to see.

It's been months since I left new Zealand and the shop is in my name it's all mine. I heard the bell ring and I got up to walk to the door but Nicky stopped me "There's a tall man with dark hair waiting out front for you." I instantly thought of Karl but I knew it wasn't him. As I walked to the front, there he was. Standing there with this devilish grin on his face. The one he always used to give. I yelled and ran to the other side of the counter and hugged him. "Chandler I can't believe your here!!!" My childhood best friend stood there wrapping me in his arms.

We went to the back and talked for what felt like a year and than I heard another ding. I walked up to the front, Nicky had left so it was just me and Chandler. There he was. Standing there with flowers. I could only see his back. But I knew it was Karl. I slowly walked up and hugged him from behind. "Oh god how I've missed you!" I felt his hands cup mine. I let go slowly and he truned around, handing me the flowers.

I started to cry as he picked me up and hugged me tighter. He carried me into the back kissing me. I had forgotten about Chandler.  But I heard his say oh loudly and walk out. I yelled goodbye and heard him yell it back. 

"How did you find me?" I asked sitting down he walked out of the room than back in with a cup of water. "I have my ways, but listen I didn't mean what I said. You can be young and know what you want. I just felt you left a good thing to soon. I realized that I was the stupid one to be so upset with you about this. I am going to be staying here, as long as you want me to." I laughed and smiled "No Karl you need to leave right now!" He looked at me confused as he put the flowers in the cup of water. "I'm joking. You can stay with me. I bought my old house back." He smiled at me "I'm hungry let's get food." I laughed at him.

"That's perfect I was wanting Chinese food I missed our hometown Chinese food." I called and ordered food and I showed him around to pass the time. I called and ordered Wonton soup, plain fried rice, and fried wontons. I figured the basics would be the best to get. I asked for chop sticks with the meal. They where bringing it to us so I didn't have to worry about leaving for it like I used to.

"I missed you more than I thought I would. It killed me being away from you. I went over to your parents house after Indiana said you weren't at school. They told me you left for your hometown back in the U.S. As soon as I heard that I wanted to come here to get you but I didn't think you'd want to see me. After time passed I realized I didn't care if you would reject me if I came here because I would at least know if I really did ruin something beautiful." He looked down telling me all this.

I lifted his head up to face me. "I wish you would have came sooner. Everytime that bell rang I shot up to see if it was you. All I wanted was you to walk through that door with a smile on your face. Your all I wanted and all I still want. Your just perfect for me and I had thought I lost that." The bell rang and I got up to get the food. I walked back to the back of the shop grabbing water out of the fridge on the way. He saw me and got up grabbing everything from me to help.

I walked back to the front grabbing the plastic bowls we use for food and the sporks that we have. I sat them down as he pulled everything out of the bag. "God sometimes this place is so stressful. I have no clue how she ran it all the time." He laughed "You'll get used to it your a hard worker."  After we ate we closed up shop. "Your coming home with me weather you want to your not." I said as we walked out to the cars.

The snow crunched under my feet, "Just follow my truck back to the house it's not to far from here." We pulled up to my old house and I smiled as he got out and stood beside me.  I unlocked the front door and there she was as she ran up to me. "ADRIANNN!" I bent over and hugged the air. Realizing it was just a memorie I felt a tear fall down my face. Karl hugged me "It's ok, I'm here." I cried into his shoulder "It hurts so much Karl. That little girl was my reason to keep going. Her mother who was my only sister and best friend is gone. Her lover the man that held her at night to make her feel safe is gone. That little baby boy that made her a mother to two that gave her that chance to have a Mama's boy. All I wanted in the world was to watch them grow up and become amazing adults. They where supposed to cry because I died not me crying because their gone."
