Chapter 2 : Why?

Luz P.O.V
"Kiddo wake up it's time for school" My mom yelled from downstairs I quickly jolted up as I just woke up from sleeping "ugh right school." I muttered

"I'll be right there mom" I yelled back at my mom going up to my closet and seeing whatever clean clothes I have and put it on with a pair of shoes running downstairs quickly with my messy hair

"Cmon Luz your gonna be late for school" She said as I quickly combed my hair with my hands grabbing my bag and my phone and a banana "sorry mom i forgot to put on my alarm" she nodded smiling "alright kid see you after school" she kissed my forehead as grabbed my key shoved it in my pocket tossing the banana peel in the trash and running out

I quickly ran my hand through my hair as I ran too school someone grabbed my backpack and slammed me to a wall I coughed and started screaming at myself "you thought you could escape me?" Zander said "what do you want I'm tired of your shit man." I said as I grunted wiping the blood off my nose, he's one of my bully's from my old school. "I want you to die, we all want you dead you know that right."

I looked around to see a bunch of people gathered around us and my anxiety started to grow "are you gonna cry like the baby you are the girl you like doesn't even care about you " he laughed and everyone else started laughing. I grabbed the collar of his shirt "repeat that again." I said in a monotone voice making him flinch. "She doesn't care about you, you're just a freak." I was about to punch him until I heard a yell to stop.

My breath hitched as I saw amity approach us "what do you think your doing?" She yelled as I dropped Zander on the floor. "He started it" I scoffed as Zander made a expression "she hit me so hard in the gut" he yelped and the whole crowd gasped in shock "why are you lying your the fucking one who slammed me against the god damn wall." I yelled at him in a tone causing him to chuckle I gritted my teeth.

"Both of you shut up" Amity yelled helping up Zander I scoffed in disbelief, "what you believe him over me?" I said hard enough so she can hear me but she ignored me and told Zander to get to class and hugged him making me scoff and look away as she walked up towards me, she put her hand on my cheek. "What?" I said in a bored tone she slapped my cheek "what the fuck was that for?" I winced in pain The crowd started leaving at once.

"Why would you lie?" I heard her and my eyebrows furrowed she thinks I lied? "Why don't you believe me I've been your friend for 2 whole fucking years until I moved because I fucking had too and here you are thinking I lied?!" I through my hands up in disbelief "why wouldn't I you left me for 2 years." my breath hitched when she said that  "I left because I had to it wasn't my choice you didn't even bother calling me or texting me." I yelled at her making her flinch, "or did you not contact me because you finally listened to your mom and wanted to stop being friends with me." I said as I tried to not make my voice crack

"Luz that's not why I-" I cut her off "why the fuck was it then, You blame shit on me won't even believe me and now you don't even care enough about me to defend me from your mom anymore?!"  I heard the bell ring "I wish I never met you." I said as a tear rolled down my cheek and I ran inside the school not waiting for a response I walked into my first period putting my hood up I sat over in my seat and put my head down as class started the Emma girl wasn't here to pester me as tears rolled down my eyes I held up my hand "may I be excused?" I said trying not to make my voice crack as everyone around me started whispering stuff about me "of course" the teacher said as I walked out the class room

I started sobbing chocking on a sob as I saw rain flow down in the window "damn it it's raining.." I called my mom and asked her if she can pick me up early she said sure and so I waited out in the hall and then saw amity walk by "Luz!" she yelled

"What do you want?" I said in a cold blunt tone. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you and not talk to you It's just my mother forced me to cut off contacts with you once she heard you were moving but I tried to stop her I swear! I-." She walked closer to me and I backed up slowly.

"So you are saying you gave up on us, is that what you are saying?" I saw her stiffened and tears running down her gold eyes I use to love staring at, "No I didn't give up I tried my best I swear she just wouldn't listen to me!" She yelled frantically.

"Luz I-" we both turned our gaze to see the front door open to reveal my mom "look I got to bounce we can talk about this some other time" I sighed not wanting to leave but to hear why she had left me and why her mother forced her to cut off contacts with me, my body stiffened when amity hugged me I stood there and she let go quickly, "I'm sorry!" She said I saw as blush started to rise on her cheeks embarrassed of she just did, "you are fine I'll catch you later" I said walking away thinking of what she just did right now walking with my mother she broke the silence.

"Hey kid you okay?" She said in a upset tone as we walked near the car "yeah I'm fine just don't wanna go to school today." I said sighing and my mother tilted her head "is there something wrong you can always talk to me." We both went into the car as I explained what happen, "maybe she knows something that you don't causing her mom to make her cut off contacts with you." "Maybe.." I sighed

"But don't worry one day things with you and her will go back to normal I promise " she said patting my head making me smile a little bit then we both got out the car and into the house I went into my room and quickly changed out of my clothes.

My mind still wandered about amity even after the argument we had I put on a black hood and some pants and some shoes and told my mom I'm going on a walk as I was walking I saw Zander and amity walking home in-front of me arguing then I saw Zander grab her wrist tightly and I saw the face she made then he pushed her slightly.

"hey!"
