"What do you mean mum isn't dead?" Madeline asks.
"after you both left I picked up the book you left me and it said your mother is still alive!" he manages to croak out obviously gaining his control back.
"How can that be?" I ask in disbelief.
"Dad that isn't possible I saw her die," I say choking on the words as I speak them. Remembering that horrible day.
"No Bree she is alive I know it, we have to go find her! Please help me get her back" he sobs
"My heart breaks watching my father unravel as he begs for help to find his lost love. The display hurts like a knife shredding my heart into a million pieces. I know she is dead I saw it my self and now somehow. Something has given him false hope.
"The book please believe me she is alive and I need your help to go and get her please he begs.
I look to Aiden who sees the pain in my eyes.
"I suggest we send word to home telling the team to meet up with us at midoria ill also tell my uncle to expect guests and get the team together and I'm sure aria will be delighted too. He says with a smile.
He knows what I know but he's doing all of this for my dad anyway. My heart tightens in my chest releasing that little knot that has been worried about us.
My dad looks up to the young man that has declared he will help him and instead of the joy, I see anger.
Dad doesn't say anything to Aiden he only sneers at him.
Aiden doesn't seem to notice or he just doesn't show it. Aiden ushers us to the waiting oregrin, and my dad seems to look at everything as if for the first time.
He doesn't speak for the whole trip to midoria.
Once we land it is a shock to me of how out of sorts this place is without magic the once luscious green plants grass and trees are faded and even dead in parts it is so quiet like a ghost town, and when I see aria it hurts even more.
She looks like Metikye before I gave him a boost, drained of color and very sickly.
She looks at my expression on my face and smiles holding her hand out to come to her so she can embrace me, so I do.
The moment she snakes her arms around me I begin to cry.
"Dear child I am far better off than most of my people, Aiden gave me a soup that has slowed the process down and it has helped me very much," she says patting my hair.
She said slowing what is that supposed to mean I think, but as I look around I realize the castle isn't abandoned it is full of trees. That's when it hits me she is losing her humanity and in time she will stop moving just like the others.
I look to Johnathan and see the stress of losing his love has drained him as well.
I don't know what I can do this is magic way outside of anything I know to do, how can I help here? the pain tugs at my chest as I desperately think of how I can fix this.
a huge pain shoots through my stomach forcing me to my knees. The sound of a drum slowly pounds in my ears. every drum beat pules through me getting louder and louder.
With one touch of Aiden's hand, it stops the pain, the drums, everything as if it was never there. The sensation was strange and rather unwelcome.
I hear everyone's worried chatter around me as I get back to my feet with help from Aiden.
