The Bond of a life time

1. Friend or foe?.

I close the journal and look around at everyone, we all look at each other not exactly knowing what to say, this entire thing has been one really big information overload, and this just hit us all so much harder. The fact that my best friend Madeline could very well be Mia and my sister is a huge shock to the system and I know no one understands this part of the story right now.

I am the first to break the silence explaining what Madeline means and the fact queen Kate is the same mother that raised me in the other world.

Metikye and logan being brothers is the next shock we begin to discuss, "how do we break this to Metikye?" Mac asks.

"Do you think he already knows?" Luc asks

"I doubt that very much, he is a very emotional man and extremely honest, he was devastated when logan was thrown from the platform, if he knew he not only lost his friend but his own flesh and blood I'm sure we would have known about it by now," Aiden argues.

The sound of the water moving around the platform brings us out of our conversation abruptly as we watch The farier people come to us, I recognize one of them right away.

"Hello Bryce," I say in more of a disgusted tone than I was going for.

He looks at me in shock, moving to the edge of the island. "If it wasn't for your eyes and the color of your hair I would swear you were Leandra"

"over 300 years have passed and you have not changed one bit Bryce" I spit

"I know your not Leandra, so you must be the bundle," he says with a grin.

"but if you are the bundle then where is your mother?" Bryce asks looking around for her.

"Your people revile her for what she did, but you still hold a candle for her don't you?" I ask

"I could never hate her, I have loved Leandra from the first moment I saw her, and I still do. I was cast out away from my own people because of the part I played in it all, even though they all joined in the battle with me, the wise ones did a great job of manipulating us and we paid the ultimate price."

"We are back that must mean we have our powers back," a young girl with red hair says.

When nothing happens she remarks "What gives?"

"Currently the magic is leaving this world very few have any magic left" I announce.

"My mother imprisoned you all, and I have released you the very person you all tried to have killed"

"The wise ones told us to!" they yell in defence.

"Are you telling me none of you even thought of what you were doing? Killing a baby was ok?"

I roll my eyes in disgust " I have done my part to release you and start putting things right, I owe none of you a thing and once I leave I won't think of any of you again" I say repulsed that I even have to listen to these people.

"PLEASE!" a voice calls to my back I turn to see Bryce, standing on the edge of the island.

"Please tell me, where is Leandra?" he pleads taking another step towards me.

I raise my hand above me and Bryce's eyes follow my hand, his eyes grow wide in horror.

"This is Leandra, my mother, she turned to stone after her heart was broken by you and your people."

Bryce lowers his head as I see drops of water apear at his feet, is he crying? He lifts his head "I can't express how sorry I am, I have waited so long to tell her that and it doesn't even scratch the surface of how I feel now"

The others all look at each other and look up at the massive statue that dominates the platform, the conflicting feelings of hate and remorse clear on each of their faces.

"Don't direct any of your ill will on me I was your victim I have set you free as she requested and now I am done!" I turn to leave again.

"Little bundle I will repay your mercy I swear it! Even if it costs me my life!"

"No need Bryce I want nothing from any of you, least of all you"

"Whether or not you want it I will keep my word!"

I walk away, Aiden's hand at my back as we all get into the box carriage of the Oregrin and leave the small island, I look on at my mothers' figure as we ascend, I promise ill find a way to set you free too I silently vow. I look down at her feet and see Bryce on his knees talking to her in a mess of tears.

No matter how angry I am, it seem he really does love her even after all this time.

the trip home is a welcome one, as I spend the entire trip in Aiden's arms watching the land below us change from kingdom to kingdom and even from way up here it is clear how much has changed while I was gone.

All of us are In silence for most of the trip as we all process all that has happened and all the possible outcomes for the future. Aiden rests his chin on the top of my head obviously in as much deep thought as the rest of us, is he thinking about becoming a father? is he as happy as he said he was or is he worried? is he thinking of what lies ahead or the current loss of magic? i don't know what is going on in his head and for some reason, it scares me.

I feel Aiden smile as he watches pizza pop and click cute little sounds in his cheeks in excitement as we get closer to nigallia. Aiden hooked his satchel up high by the window so he can watch the scenery pass below us better, making pizza even more delighted.

I can't help but smile at the connection these two have, Aiden and his people are all good with creatures sure, but really there is no connection it is more like a business deal or agreement between trainer and creature rather than a connection like this. Respect is what you see most of the time and no creature ever stays with the trainer they live their lives and simply come when called, but with Aiden and pizza, it is a true connection with a lot of love and although I know Aiden loves me and I am carrying our child, I swear I feel a distance growing between us.
