"This is a story about a little girl and her mum, picking berries in the forest. In an area where there are no berries to be found, the little girl strayed further away from her mum, determined to find and collect berries. Her mum called out to her but she's nowhere to be found."
"The little girl was thirsty and tried to find a way back to her mum. Soon she realized that she was lost alone in the forest. Crying, calling out her mum's name, holding her stomach as she was thirsty, she encountered the Bat Lord who bit off his own wing and offered the child to drink his blood as it may quench her thirst. She drank the blood of the Bat Lord and continued walking through the forest."
"She walked and walked and it started to get cold. The girl stumbled upon a graveyard surrounded by a yellow mist, she sat on one of the cement floor hugging herself in order to fight the coldness of the place. From the shadows, a dark figure appeared. The dark figure crafted and gifted the little girl a dress, spun from a gold silk thread. The dark figure called out to her, telling the little girl to call the figure, the Dark Weaver."
"The little girl carried on walking and soon found a small boat. She rode on it hoping that it will take her back home to her mum and dad. She crosses the water, paddling every now and then. The little girl grew tired of paddling and became hungry. From the waters, the Fish King appeared, offering the little girl one of his scales for her to eat."
"The little girl threaded successfully through the water feeling full and soon reached the heart of the forest. Two beautiful Iron Steed appeared in front of her. There was a beautiful maiden riding one of the steed—with a beautiful golden gear hang from its neck. The steed and the maiden approached the girl saying nothing. The little girl believed that the golden gear was also a gift, took it and the other steed died. The mighty steed grew angry at the girl and the maiden tried to calm his anger but he already summoned the other creatures the little girl has encountered in her travels."
"A wild wind rose, surrounding the beasts, then appeared the Witch. The witch trapped her in a mirror as a payment for the gifts she took more than what was given to her."
"The little girl's parents who was searching for her all day long, found the witch's place. The little girl's father angrily fought the Witch, while her mother's gentle loving touch has freed her from the mirror. However, the little girl's father was overpowered by the Witch, and it turns that the forest was set on fire. The father called for the mother and the little girl to escape, as he fight the Witch to his doom."
"The little girl and her mum has escaped to safety and never returned to the forest. It is said that when a child gazes too long at the charred remains of the forest will have nightmares of being lost in the forest while picking berries."
"Do you really need to read that to our children?" Karl asked as he kissed my cheek from behind me.
I smiled and closed the book that I got back when we were staying at the village.
The Village of Shadows
"Did you know that you sounded like Ethan Winters just now?" I giggled.
"And how did you know that I sounded just like him?" He furrowed his eyebrows.
I stood up and carried our second child, our beautiful son, Verite.
"Now now daddy... Don't be jealous or else Aiden will make fun of you" I advised.
Our first born son is named Aiden, he's just like his dad. Cocky, intelligent, and charming.
"Call me daddy one more time, baby" he started kissing my exposed neck.
"Hey!! Little Verite is sleeping here" I shrugged him off but he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I don't care, let's make another one" he whispered in my ear using his husky voice.
Ugh this cocky man.
"You know we can't do that now. If you tickle me I might drop our child" I pouted.
He chuckled, his ever so sexy smile. He offered to carry Verite and put him to sleep upstairs.
I still can't believe that we're finally together. After all those years, I thought we'll be separated from each other because of mother Miranda.
The past was only engraved in our memories and written in a fairytale book I own. The book that mother Miranda herself written but then I rewrote after she died.
Karl Heisenberg—once a loyal subject of mother Miranda—whom I feared and once called Lord Heisenberg, is now my husband.
Let me tell you a story how it all happened...
