At some point, the temperature skyrocketed. The men, aside from those working inside, took off their shirts while the worked on the cars. Mitch was the last, not wanting to show his scars to Melissa. She gasped softly, looking at the pale scar tissue on the boys shoulders and back. He adverted his gaze from her and set to work.

Brian smiled at him, "dont worry, Mitch. We've got you."

"Thanks," he smiled back.

"So, Mitch. Have you begun planning?" Mia asked as she walked out drinks for everyone.

"Without you? Never," Mitch assured.

"Dom, I'm about to head to the store. We having a barbecue or no this weekend?"

"Yes," Dom smiled and nods. "Why wouldn't we?"

"Just checking." Letty attached to her. "Ew, you sweaty beast!" She shoved her but she didnt move. She laughs, kissing Letty. She releases her with a smile.

"Ewww!" Mitch tossed a pebble their way. "PDA!"

Letty shoved him a little before hugging him. Mitch laughed, hugging her back. Their skin stuck together with sweat and the heat.

Mitch pulled away first, pulling a face. Dom wrapped his arms around him from behind, kissing his mate mark. His skin also stuck to Mitch's.

"Geh," he said, leaning back into him. "Your all sweaty."

Dom just laughs, kissing his cheek. Melissa watched, eyes dark.

She hasn't seen Stiles, her surrogate son, smile so brightly since he started to date Derek. She hasn't seen him laugh, joke, and just be since then. Its almost sad.

"You ok?" Dom asked softly as everyone returned to work. Mitch smiled at him, causing Dom to kiss his nose.

"Yeah," he nods and looks back at the crew. "I'm perfect. This is... this is perfect."

"Hey, Lets!" Mia smiled as her girlfriend comes running like a puppy.

"Yeah?"

"Love you."

"Love you too!" Letty kisses her before returning to work. Mia heads to the store.

"This is home," Mitch finished. "This is where we belong."

"I have news," Dom calls out. Everyone turns to him. "Giselle and Han are one their way. They have big news." Mitch passes Dom a knowing look before finally separating from him and returning to work. Brian frowns.

"What was that look?"

"What look?" Mitch asked, all innocent.

"The look you have Dom."

Mitch just rolled his eyes and set to work.

----

The next morning, Melissa returned to her home. That night, Giselle and Han arrived. Mitch greeted them at the door with wide smiles and hugs.

"Ah," Han exhaled softly. "Its good to be home."

"Yeah," Giselle agreed with her husband and mate. Mitch and Jesse take their bags to their room. They return downstairs and Jesse properly greets the two.

"Its great to see you," Letty sighed happily.

"You too," Giselle, Letty, and Mia head to the kitchen to talk. The boys played a racing game in the living room. Mitch sat out on the porch, smoking a cigarette. The door was opened, letting him hear what was going on.

The porch creaked as Roman sat beside him. Brian sat on his other side and took a cigarette.

"You feeling ok?"

"I'm ok. Just thinking."

"What about?" Roman knocked their shoulders together.

"Just... thinking. Barstow, mostly. We got into some shit, huh?"

Brian chuckled, "yeah we did."

"Remember when we stole those 40's from the convenience store and went out to the beach in my Dads car? God, he was pissed when we got home," Mitch bubbles.

"Or that time is a rainin' and you two show up on my doorstep. Mama was pissed you got her carpet wet, but gave y'all tuna sandwiches anyways," Roman laughed.

"When we stole candy and beers and broke into the movie theater," Brian shakes his head and chuckles.

"The first race we went too," Mitch huffed. "That was fun."

"Oh, oh, surfing on the weekends!" Brian and Roman add. Dom watches from the doorway.

He loves Mitch, loves Roman and Brian as brothers. Hes so happy that Mitch is happy, that hes recovering from everything. He watched as they smoke, laugh, and talk about their childhood.

"Remember when I popped my first car?" Mitch chuckled.

"Wasnt it your dads?"

"No! It was Roscoe!" Roman tsked, shaking his head.

"You kept a popped car?"

"Well, technically, yes?" Mitch smiled at Dom.

The finish up and head back inside.

Mitch was happy to have a home, a family of his own.

Jesse shoved Vince slightly before curling back into him. Letty and Mia were cuddled together, Giselle and Han too. Roman and Brian were shouting at eachother as they race in game. Dom and Mitch take up an armchair together.

"Thank you," Mitch said softly. They turn to him, confused. "For everything. For protecting me, being there for me."

"Mitch, your our friend, our family," Brian smiled. "And incase you forgot, Rome and I promised to help you whenever you showed up."

Mitch nuzzled closer to Dom and smiled. "Well, it probably saved my life."

"I love you," Dom smiled down at him. Mitch smiled back at him.

"I love you. All of you," he turns back to the pack.
