Max pov
It's been 4 days and yet I know they won't be back for another 2 and 1/2 weeks, but I miss them. Ronnie won't stop talking about how she misses her daddy, Logan tries to fill the void while he's away but it's not enough. So here I am sitting in our room, well technically 2 rooms, they are split and separate from the school dorms. I'm looking out the window, Ronnie is in the training room with Logan. My two year old learning how to beat someone up. Oh how things have changed, but I was learning to do that stuff when I was a kid, although I was in a cage, in a lab. Don't think about that Max. I get up and go over to the closet and grab a fresh pair of clothes. I am about to take a shower when I here a jet land. Another jet? Hank had stopped by but he only talked to Charles. He didn't even speak to me. I know it had something to do with Fang, Angel and Jean but it drives me nuts he wouldn't tell me anything. We were good friends when he was still here at the school. Then he went off to join the war.I put down my clothes and go off to see who has landed. Who could it be?
I couldn't believe it when I went down to the basement and saw 70 kids scramble out. How did the poor jet not fall out of the sky? The jet is big, but not big. Then I see Fang walk out last with Angel and Jean.
"How.....?"
"Bigger on the Inside." Jean says walking past us looking exhausted.
"Your joking." I laugh at Fang.
"Hank told us about a secret compartment under the actual jet that's invisible to the eye. It can hold a good 60 people." Angel says. Then she walks out with a handful of kids and I'm left alone with Fang.
"How did you get back so early?" I hugging him.
"Angel is a genius, that's all I have to say." He says standing back and looking kind of sad.
He must have seen something out there that changed him. We all have, but it just hits it home when we realize how bad war really can be. I hear a cough and turn around to see Logan holding Ronnie's hand and standing in the doorway.
"Go get em kid." I hear him say to her.
She runs over and tackles Fang and I in a group hug that ends up on the ground.
Logan walks away I guess off to see Jean and the Professor and have a meeting. We spend the next 10 minutes laughing, hugging, and then it turns into a full out tickle fight with Fang and Ronnie. My family isn't perfect, it's broken, but it's my family, and I love them to pieces.

Charles pov
"Jean." I say when she walks in.
She doesn't say a word, just walks over and sits down in the chair near my desk. She looks exhausted, "70 kids to add to our school, maybe less if some decide to go to home." She says finally.
"That's good news, we can start helping them find their parents within the next couple days. We should make sure they are all alright first and that they won't get into trouble again. For all we know, if we send them back home they could just get caught again. This is the only safe place left Jean, maybe not even here soon." I say sighing.
"You look tired." She says looking at me.
"I got a good 3 hours of sleep last night, I'm fine." I say laughing slightly.
When I look back over Jean is asleep in the chair. I wheel over and put a blanket on her. "Goodnight Jean." I say. Then I go off to find Angel. We have two bases out there's till with kids in them. They need us, I'm not giving up on them, so they know to not give up on me.

Logan pov
Training room
Before Angel arrived...
"Right kick, no no no duck! Now left hook! And he's down!" I say when Ronnie defeats another person in the training room.
"Want to take a break kid?" I ask.
"I'm good." She says grabbing her water bottle, it was a sippy cup. "Alright another round it is." I say pressing the a few buttons on the wall. "Level 5." I say and then stand back as the surroundings change and another kid pops up who is older than Ronnie by about 10 years. They kick, punch, then she flips the kid. In under 5 minutes he's down and defeated. He disappears and its just Ronnie and I alone in the room. She wants to do another one but I here the hydraulic in the basement moving. The jets back, "Come on kid, I think there's someone you might want to see." She nods and we go off to greet her dad. Man am I going to miss these moments. I'm going on the next mission in a few days, she'll miss me, but I'm going to miss her more. She reminds me so much of my daughter. Determined, crazy, and someone who could kill you without lifting a finger.
