Fighting Till Forever

Chapter 2

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I've been very busy with school and I was sick for a while to. Hope you enjoy this chapter, tried to make it long.

Charles pov
"Angel is resting. Max, she should be okay in a few days, her wing was fractured but is now healed, her shoulder has manly healed but she still should wear her sling." I say.
"Are we going back to back to the mansion now?" Max asks me.
"Yes, we will re group and make sure that the war is really over. We are going to have to take
public transportation since the jet is broken." I say.
"Max? Professor?" I hear Angel ask me.
"Your up, good to see you again." I say.
"Can I have a moment alone with Max?" Angel asks me.
"Sure thing, I'll be in the other room if you need me." I say.

Angel pov
"Don't ever do that again!" Max yells hugging me.
"Ow." I say quietly. "Sorry, so the base is destroyed?" Max asks.
"Yes, but I don't think it was enough to stop them. They are still out there, I can feel it. They are just building up forces and recruiting people." I say.
"If this turns into a full scale war, I want to be on the front lines Max. And don't say I'm a little kid anymore, I've had to grow up and I may be 8, but they could use me." I state.
"Oh no, you are not going anywhere. If anything I'm going." She says.
"But come on! Pleassseeee! Please please please!"
"If the professor agrees, maybe." Max says finally caving in.
Can you go now? I need to talk to the professor." I ask Max.
"No problem, love you Angel." Max says.
"Love you too Max." I say.
The professor comes in right after Max leaves and he says "You were very brave back there Angel. I'm proud of you. In fact I'm thinking of making you a full X-men. Only if you want to, it's up to you." He says.
"Your not joking....yes I would love to join!" I finally say after the shock wears off.
"Professor, could I join on the front lines of the war? I know my age, but I heal fast, have strong abilities and I'm a great talker. Maybe I could help with a peace treaty." I say.
"You can help with the peace treaty but I need you at the mansion Angel. This is going to be a bloody war and I'm not going to have you involved to much in it." I say.
We leave and get back to the mansion in 6 hours. We ended up all taking a private plane from LAX to Laguardia. When we get to the mansion Fang is waiting for us at the door.
"Well hello everyone. What took so long?" He says as jokingly as Fang can.
Everyone piles in and Max is left alone with Fang.

Max pov
"Hey." I say.
"I'm glad your safe." He says.
Then something unexpected happened a that I never saw coming, he leaned in and kissed me, right on he lips, not something that felt like it was lasting forever, not any making out, but just a small, simple kiss. It was the best feeling in the world, and it was with the person I always wanted it to be with. "You know, with this whole war going on, impending doom and all, maybe we could catch something to eat at the local diner?" He asks.
"That would be nice." I say still in shock.
I walk to my room and Angel and Nudge are sitting on my bed. "Is there something you might want to tell us?" Nudge asks.
"You were spying on me!" I say.
"Actually Angel may have projected the image from her mind and we watched in detail what happened..." Nudge says trailing off.
"Out. Now." I say with my serious face.
That scared them and they scooted. Now I can have some peace and quite, and get ready for my date. If I even know how to get ready for a date?
