"It's Lavanya." Khushi opened the door.

"What?"  Arnav was surprised.

"Chamkili, how are you?", Lavanya entered, taking in the look of the flat at once. "Good morning! I brought you a life pack. ASR, go home. Di is expecting you for breakfast."

"Lavanya ji humein bhi nikalna hai..." Khushi said, realizing that this was awkward on a different level, whether Lavanya wanted to acknowledge it or not. (Translation: I also need to leave)

"Time dekha hai Chamkili?" (Translation: Have you seen the time?)

Khushi did and was shocked. "8:30?! We have a meeting at 10."

"Brilliant!! ASR?!" Lavanya looked at Arnav, indicating him to leave immediately.

"I'm leaving! I never thought a day will come I'll get thrown out of my own house by a girlfriend and a best friend." Arnav looked completely irritated, but Khushi could sense his amusement, too.

"I didn't...." Khushi defended herself, putting on an act.

"Chamkili, shhh!"  Lavanya brandished a hair dryer from her life pack of a backpack.

Lavanya started with her hair and let Khushi choose from her make up kit. Khushi only took the kajal. She started to use it as  an eyeliner as well . "Wait..." Lavanya took away the kajal and replaced it with an eyeliner. "Use this." By 8:45 Khushi's hair had completely dried. "Leave it open. It will suit better for the top I have for you."

"Top?" Khushi looked at her friend, confused.

"Well, it's a one piece but it will look good with jeans as well." She pulled out the dress. It looked like a kurti but didn't have the cut on the sides. The length was perfect to be worn on jeans.

"I'll try." It fit Khushi perfectly. "Thank you so much Lavanya ji."

"Not a problem. Ab chalein?" (Translation: Let's go?)

Khushi nodded. They locked up and left for office.

"Call up home. I told Payal we had a sleepover. Just let her know."

"Right." She called home.

"Arey Sanka Devi, kidhar ho tum. Kuch khoj khabar batane ka tem mil gaya tumka." (Translation: Sanka Devi, where are you? You didn't even get a moment to call home?)

"Buaji hum seedha office ja rhe hain." (Translation: I'm going to office)

"Na muh dhoye, na khana khaye, na kapde badle, bas nikal gaye kaam pe?" (Translation: Office without freshening up?)

"Buaji sab kar liya phir nilke. Isliye to raaste se phone kar rahe hain." (Translation: I did get freshened up. I'm calling you on the way to office)

"Kapde kidhar mile?" (Translation: Where did you get clothes?)

"Lavanya ji ke paas normal kapde bhi hain buaji." (Translation: Lavanya has decent clothes too.)

Lavanya looked at her. Sorry, Khushi mouthed.

"Hum rakhte hain." She cut the call. (Translation: I have to go. Bye.)

The first half went smoothly. They had back-to-back meetings. At lunch, Khushi went to Arnav to tell him she wanted the day off.

"It isn't your day, Khushi. And you know what I want today."

"Fine. But we don't have any meetings and I don't have any work. So, I'm going home for lunch." She left the cabin.
