A week Later
My alarm clock went off making me roll over hitting it twice.
"Mm. Is it morning already baby?" I looked back seeing a woman in my bed making me laugh and shake my head. "Yeah and it's time for you to go." I stood up stretching. "Fucking asshole." She said through gritted teeth picking up her shit.
"Goodmorning to you too." I waved her out the door slamming it.
I walked up to the double doors of my balcony opening them up. I was blessed living on top of the city over looking everything. I wasn't one of them dumb ass dope boys that stayed in the hood. Too much was riding on it; fake friends, enemies, and loved ones even trying to take from you.
I laid out my rug doing my morning stretches and meditation. I was a very spiritual person and I believed in keeping myself right in all aspects.
"Nigga getcho Jackie Chin off of Karate Kid ass up. We got real life people shit to do!" Lijah bust open my bedroom doors making me look at him like he was crazy. "Nigga you lucky I'm in my spiritual shit right now. If I wasn't burning sage I'll be putting a burner on yo ass." We both laughed. "Wassup man?" I stood up dapping him up.
"Daily runs, it's time to collect money nigga." "Ight let me get dressed and I'll meet you downstairs." He nodded leaving out.
I treated Lijah like he was my little brother, I watched him grow up. If he was gone be in the streets then he was going to be near me. I promised Marlicia a long time ago I'd protect him. Cause if the streets get his head I know she's gone have mine.
I pulled the grey Nike hoodie over my head completing my fit.
"Aye but on a serious note I gave you that key just in case I need to put you and Marlicia back for a bit if shit get hot." He jerked his head back looking at me upside my head. "It's Motel 6 in that bitch now. I'm all up and through there and you better not be playing with my sister bro."
"Nawl nigga yo sister playing with me. But I'm off her though." I looked out the window not even wanting to think about her stubborn ass. "You say that shit every time she hurt yo feelings, shake back man." He laughed nudging me.
"Anyway, we finna hit this corner store first though. I need a chicken biscuit or something, stomach touching my ass." We both laughed pulling up.

"Aye bro pull up to Marlicia's, I need to get something from her." I looked at him crazy as I put the money in the bag from our last drop. "Man hell nawl! I'm not tryna see that girl." I shook my head not feeling it. I just knew once I looked into her eyes I was done for. I was stuck on that girl and it was because she was so different. She always told me what I needed to hear and not what I wanted to hear. She was strong, beautiful, thick as fuck, and had her head on straight. I was twenty-four and she was twenty-one but walked with a confidence I haven't seen in any bitch alive.
"She not worried about you man, just pull up. I'm be in and out, you not even gone see her." I looked over at him shaking head. "Ight man. In and out! Don't be doing all that playing and shit." He nodded his head smiling.
A few minutes of floating through traffic we pulled up to her spot. She stayed in a nice neighborhood with a yard. Perfect for starting a family in.
"In and out." Lijah said before shutting my door. I put the truck in park rolling down the windows. My phone buzzed making me look down.
Foo: we got a problem, some niggas hit the house on 18th.
I shook my head, covered my eyes and threw my head back on the seat. "If it's not one thing it was a 'nother."
