Welcome to this book, "Their New Future"! You can call me Riie.
It's book 2 of my Anomaly Series, which I'm re-editing both books so there may be some inconsistencies.
As for the universe, it's set in my Guardian Daemon Universe. You can find a short dedicated chapter to it in ANOMALY: E.K. This story may become confusing if you aren't very familiar with the concept, So I will be making a dedicated book to the universe.
English isn't my first language so please excuse any weird mistakes or phrases, I'm trying my best with never being in these situations that I write :>
These characters are very close to my heart, so if there's anything you don't understand, please comment down and I'll fix/explain anything :)
I hope you'll enjoy this book and characters as much as I do, even with mistakes.

Thank you for your support.

[You can skip this chapter since it's long, but it is a good pre-chapter explanation of what happened at the end of BOOK 1 if you do not want to read it.]

"Rest in Peace, Ryū Kuromiya. And find your way into a world with no harm."

Jiro finished his speech and walked down to sit at his seat, while he looked as if he was grieving, his eye showed a different story under his sunglasses. Akane gently rubbed his back as she slipped a key into his palms, turning her head to the coffin.

"Please make your way outside for the burial." One of the funeral staff called out, making the married couple look at each other.

"Jiro... we need to go, now." Akane hastily whispered, dragging him to the back of the room, "We're loosing time."

[31 Hours before Ryū Kuromiya's pronounced death.]

"BPM 29, Blood pressure 100/59. Should we administer Atropine?"

"Keep monitoring them, their health records have them marked down as low. Page me if it gets any lower or higher."

"Yes, Doctor."

The two men were left in the lone room, the silence not lasting long with the machines desperately breathing life into Ryū, the atmosphere was rapidly becoming grim.

"Ibuki-san..." Suzuki's voice probed, trying to get the Yakuza captains attention.

Ibuki was gripping Ryū's hand so lightly, afraid he'd break it. On the other hand, Jiro had taken his eyepatch off, though the reason why, Taro was too worried to ask.

"I'll kill them..."

"Taro, stop it."

Taro looked up, once bright eyes now dull with tears brimming and threatening to fall as his long aquamarine hair was like a bird nest.

"The man was already apprehended. Ryū-san wouldn't want this." Jiro tried to console the heartbroken man, who just looked back down at Ryū's hand, trying to block out the slow beeping of the machines around him.

"..."

Taro's tears only worsened, the feeling of being on the verge of loosing someone all too familiar to him, and no doubt to Jiro too.

"Ryū-chan..."

The two sat in silence, only the rushing of nurses and constant beeping being the noise that occupied the tense space.
