Chapter - 2

Chris cut her and said, "Lucy. Let's Divorce..."

Lucy was shocked. She thought she was having some hearing problems or she heard something wrong. Lucy was looking at Chris to check whether he said those words. Chris opened his eyes when he didn't get any response. Lucy was frozen in her place whilst looking at his face. Chris called, "Lucy, Lucy,... Are you here or not? '' 

Lucy snapped out from her thoughts and her eyes were already filled with tears. Lucy asked in her shaking voice, "What... What did you say, Chris? I really don't understand what you mean just now?" 

Chris just sighed and said calmly as if it's not that serious of a problem, "I said, Let's divorce. If you are still not clear, I can say it again and again. I want a divorce from you. Is it clear now?" Chris answered, feeling more irritated when he saw those tears from Lucy.

Lucy's lips were trembling when she was trying to speak. She asked, "Chris... why? Why are you asking for a divorce now? Don't you love me again?" Chris just sat there without answering or responding either. Lucy continued, "Chris it's been 16 years since we got married and lived together. Did I make any mistakes from my side or did I even insult you in these past years? I always followed whatever you said and whatever you did. I've never defaulted to any of them. Now, what happened? Tell me, Chris, what happened now? Why are you asking for a divorce?" 

Chris stood up from his seated place and asked, "Have you finished your blabberings? If you have finished, just sign the divorce papers. I have a lot of other work to attend to than sitting here and listening to your rubbish!" By saying this he threw the divorce papers in front of Lucy and stormed upstairs.

Lucy looked at the papers and she was crying and anger took her mind. Lucy grabbed Chris's collar and asked, "What do you think you are doing? Ah? I am asking you, what do you get by doing this? Wasn't I good to you? I helped in your hard times. We both loved each other from our college days. I left my family to be with you and severed all the ties with them just to be your wife. Still, now, I have not even contacted anyone just because they insulted you and you asked not to talk with them. But now you want a divorce from me? Why, Chris? Why? Why are you hurting me like this? What have I done to deserve this! Answer me! Why?!"

Lucy was shooking Chris' collar and asking so many questions. Chris was annoyed and pushed her from his collar and slapped her so hard. Lucy's lips got cut due to force and blood came from her mouth. Chris just looked at her, disgustedly, and said, "You are asking me why? Don't you know the reason? It's your bastard son! He is the reason I want a divorce! I can't accept such disappointment as my son! Never! I will not!" 

Lucy immediately got up and went to Chris with her tears flowing down, she cupped his face and said, "Chris listen to me. We have a lot of ways. Why do you want to do this? Look. Zhan is still a small boy. It is not necessary that he should get pregnant, right? He can also live like other males. He can marry a girl. No one will know about this. Then why are you thinking that he is not your son? Please, Chris. Don't leave us. If you think people here will come to know means we can just move from here. We can go to some other place where no one knows us. We can have our life there. We can be happy as we were in the past. Please, Chris. Just think about it. Think about this and don't do this to us, please. Please, Chris." Lucy was begged. Her tears are ever flowing.

Chris just looked at Lucy in disgust and bellowed out, "What do you think I was doing these past months? I went to many doctors to know about that. I asked about the operations to be done on Zhan to make him normal. All said that his body is weak and can't perform it now. And also in future, we can't assure how successful it will be. Then, I also thought of the way you just said now. But that is not guaranteed. Because his body is mainly like a woman's type. He might not be able to make any woman pregnant! Why should I live with a worthless boy like him and keep him as my son? Never!" Lucy was shaking her head and crying hearing these words. Lucy didn't know Chris was thinking and doing these things behind her back.
