Chapter - 6

Happiness on Lucy's face was turned to confusing and frowned on that person too. Lucy came from her trance and asked, "Yes. May I know who you are?" 

That person asked, "That is what I too want to ask. Who are you people in my house?" 

Lucy was startled. She asked, "What do you mean by this?" 

That person said, "What do I mean by this? Don't you understand my language or have you suddenly become deaf? I am the owner of this house. Who are you people occupying it?" 

Lucy smiled and said, "Oh. Sorry, sir. I didn't know you were the owner. Welcome, sir. But I am a little bit in a hurry. Today is my wedding day. So can you skip the matter for now and talk about it later?"

The house owner frowned and said, "I don't want to know which day is today. I am asking who permitted you to live here? I don't remember occupying people like you here." 

Lucy was confused to hear these questions. For as long as she could remember, this house belonged to Mr. Wei and he hasn't told her it belongs to someone else right? She thought to herself before looking at the said man and asked, "What are you saying, Sir? We have taken this house for rent some months before. Now you are asking who gave permission?" 

The house owner said, "I gave the house to Mr. Wei. But what are you guys doing here?" 

Lucy smiled and said, "Yes sir. We are his family." 

The house owner raised a questionable brow and said, "Family? How come? He said he wants this house for six or seven months and he never mentioned being married before now. He is also single." 

Lucy's smile was gone and her face turned white and paled. She asked, "Have you mistaken? Because from the day this house was rented we have been living with him. I think you're mistaken, Sir." 

The house owner signed and said, "Whatever. If you two had a business, I don't want to know. Now, why are you all still here?"

Lucy asked, "What does it mean? Why are we still here? It's our house which we rented. Where do we want to live other than here?" 

The owner said, "Ah! But Mr. Wei has already returned the rent agreement and said he vacated the house. And also he got back the deposit amount he gave at the start." 

Lucy turned pale the more and tears started to well up in her eyes. She asked, "What are you saying? When did this happen?" 

The owner said, "Three days before. He said his work has been done and return to his own city. So he is vacating the house. He also gave back the keys." Lucy collapsed down and cried. Mrs. Meifei also had tears as she understood the situation. She went near Lucy and hugged her.

Mrs. Meifei talked to the owner as Lucy was not in a stable state to talk. Mrs. Meifei said, "Please give us some time. We will see what we can do. We didn't know Mr. Wei did this." 

The owner also felt pity for Lucy and said, "Okay. As you both adults are women and one kid is there, so I am allowing you to stay for two more days. But after that, you have to vacate the house." 

Mrs. Meifei said, "Okay." The owner along with the bodyguards who came with him went back. Lucy cried her heart out and said, "Why? Why did he do that to me? Where did I go wrong?" Mrs. Meifei was also crying while hugging Lucy. She also didn't know how to console Lucy. Zhan, who saw everything, also started to cry along with them. All the three cried and without knowing them the time went off and it became evening.

Mrs. Meifei helped Lucy to change her wedding attire and make them have something to eat. She stayed with them as today was not a very happy one. She was afraid of Lucy taking some hasty decisions. The next day Lucy woke up and saw that Mrs. Meifei was preparing breakfast. She smiled faintly thinking at least she had one person who was really caring about them and giving support to her and Zhan in her hard times. Lucy woke up Zhan and prepared him for school. She also came ready to go out. Mrs. Meifei asked, "Lucy, where are you going?"
