Against the Odds - Yizhan (On Hold)

Chapter - 7

The Next day bloomed as if nothing was going to be wrong. Mrs. Meifei woke up as usual and started her daily routine. But she didn't see Lucy coming out of the room. She thought Lucy might be tired and slept so she also didn't want to wake Lucy up and let her sleep. But it became Nearly seven. But still, Lucy or Zhan didn't woke up. So she had a bad feeling and went to Lucy's Bedroom. Lucy was not present in her room. Meifei searched for her in the bathroom and everywhere. Finally, she reached Zhan's room to see and saw Lucy sleeping in Zhan's bed. She relaxed and started to leave but suddenly she heard the sobbing sound.

Meifei turned and entered Zhan's room and looked at zhan. Zhan was crying and struggling to come out of Lucy's grasp. Meifei frowned and asked, "Zhan what happened? Why are you crying?" Zhan cried and said, "Grandma. It's painful. Mamma is strangling me. I want to pee... uwwu..." Meifei looked at Lucy. Lucy looked liked smiling during her sleep. Meifei said, "Lucy. Wake up. See Zhan is crying. Leave him. Lucy.. Lucy". There was no movement in lucy. Meifei looked and she slowly loved her hand towards Lucy to wake her. Meifei touched Lucy's hands. It was cold. So cold without the body temperature. Meifei shook up Lucy calling her name. But Lucy was not waking up. Meifei struggled to take Zhan out of her grasp. Zhan ran immediately towards the bathroom.

Meifei slowly moved her hand towards Lucy's nose. Her hands were trembling. When she held her hand before Lucy's nose there was no breath. Meifei took back her hand immediately and tears were coming from her eyes. She looked around and saw the two glasses on the study table. She went near the table to see the glass and saw the letter. Meifei's hands were still trembling when she took the letter. She read the letter with her name and her eyes were flowing with tears. Once she read the letter, Meifei cried, "Lucy. Lucy. What did you do, my child? How dare you take this decision in hand. How dare you left Zhan in this world alone?" 

Zhan who came back saw Meifei crying and still, Lucy was sleeping. Zhan went near Lucy and started to shake her and said, "mamma get up. See grandma is crying. Why are you still sleeping? Get up, mamma." Meifei saw Zhan waking his mamma and she crawled towards him and hugged Zhan in a kneeling position itself. Zhan started crying profusely and said, "Grandma. Mamma is not waking up. Why is she doing this? Did zhan do anything wrong? Is mamma angry with me?" Meifei cries more when she hears Zhan's words. Zhan cried and also shook his mamma. 

Meifei said, "Zhan. baby. Look, grandma. You... your mamma will not wake up dear. She.. she went to god. She won't wake up anymore." Meifei broke down after saying this. 

Xiao Zhan was confused and said, "No grandma. Yesterday mamma said that wherever she goes she takes me also. Then why she went alone. Why didn't she take Zhan with her? Mamma cheated me. I won't talk to mamma. I am angry. hmpf..." Zhan was angry as she went alone leaving him here. But zhan didn't understand that Lucy left forever.

Meifei said, "Don't say like this Zhan baby. Mamma won't come back again. She left you with your father and asked you to study well. Mamma went to god to ask for you to get a good future." 

Xiao Zhan heard the word 'Went to god'. Zhan was shocked and asked Meifei, "mamma... mamma. Went to god. Won't she come back to zhan? Won't be with zhan forever. Why grandma? Why she left zhan here?" Meifei didn't know what to do and what to say to zhan.

Then she tried to calm down Zhan but he was always crying and was nearly too faint. She took Zhan to the living room and made Zhan lie down on the sofa. She called the police to come and proceed with the future things. As it was a suicide there were some things to be taken care of as Zhan responsibility have to be given to Chris through court proceedings. The police officers came and enquired Meifei and she handed over them the letter which Lucy wrote to her. But she hid the letter written to zhan. The police saw the things and they started the investigation over the things and took the body to the hospital for further proceedings.
