Bread and fish age

With my security and mining soon taken care of, I had to recruit more people to grow my empire, which called for the need for more food. So I instructed my researchers to start researching other seeds and grasses from the land. I also wanted to harvest food from the sea. (I would regret this later...)

With wheat farming researched and fishing rods available, my food supplies skyrocketed. My people now had carbohydrates from the bread, but they couldn't eat the fish for some reason. Mainly because it wasn't cooked and I didn't have access to a stove.

I then took note of how I was reaching capacity of the amount of people my colony could handle. Not because of beds, not because of space, but because of the popularity. Not as many people were attracted to my colony anymore, which made it significantly harder to progress. to solve this, I advertised the happiness of my people and the access to luxuries. This seemed to bring the capacity from 25 to around 35 people.

I also used this method to increase my influence on the area which allowed me to construct a larger wall on the outer edge of the newer perimeter. This allowed for more space which meant more people which meant more power!

I turned my interests back to food and cooking up the fish for my colonists to eat. I told my researchers to research a controlled fire below a metal grill. My theory was proved correct after my scientists greeted me with a nicely browned fish which tasted delicious. However, my colonists did not count this as a meal but instead a luxury, which means it would not solve my hunger problems but it will increase my influence.
