"Your lips, my lips,"
I awoke to the sound of shuffling.I groggily rubbed my eyes and stretched my arms. I watched as Louis scrambled around his room trying to prepare for his date.
"You okay?" I asked
"Yeah, just a tad nervous"
"Don't be. She's the one who said yes to you,"
"Yeah but it's our first date and I want to make a good impression!"
"Alright, alright," I said holding my hands up in defense
"I better get going. I'm picking her up" He sighed, out of breath, "How do I look,"
"You look dashing. Good luck" I smiled
"Thanks. I'll see you later, yeah?"
I mumbled a "mhmm" and he walked out the door.
What do I do now?
I don't really have any other friends and I don't give two shits about my school work.
I wandered down the stairs and into the kitchen where Millie was filming a tiktok with one of her friends I've learned was named Sally.
"Oh hey Mazy!"
"Hey Mills"
"Do you want to be in a tiktok with us?"
"Sure. I have nothing else to do,"
"It's a dance so we'll have to teach you," Sally informed me
"Is it too late to back out?"
"Yes, now c'mon we'll teach you!" Millie urged
"Then you run your hands down your front and pat it back up like this,"
Lord, I can't imagine how stupid I looked right now.
"Yeah like that!" Millie jumped
They hit the record button and we started doing the dance. Surprisingly enough, it only took around two tries.
Hanging out with Millie always brought my spirits up. The girl was like a ray of sunshine for heaven's sake. You couldn't help but smile around her.
Issie on the other hand didn't talk to me much. I would catch her looking at me every once in a while but she never talked to me unless I came up to her first.
"I think I'm going to go back up to Lou's room. I'll catch you all later," I told them
They nodded in acknowledgment and went back to staring at their screens.
I sighed and ran my fingers along the railing of their staircase.
I sat down on Louis's bean bag chair and went on my phone.
Am I being too clingy? I basically live at their house now and Lou is my only real friend. What the hell happened to my life?!
I scrolled through Instagram to take my mind off of things and clicked on Louis's story. There was a picture of two hands being held by one another. I clicked on the next post- it didn't help. Sky was kissing his cheek.
He looks so happy with her. I should just give up on trying to make him love me back. I always knew that I didn't have a chance but there was a sliver of hope in the depths of my heart that allowed me to think he might love me back one day. I suppose you can't always be right.
