Chapter 3

One week later...

Over the past week, Daisy learned to accept that she was going to become a mother and was okay with it now. She knew she was going to love this baby more than anything whether or not Lincoln decides to be in the picture. She still did hope he did. She didn't want any child of hers, planned or not, to have to go through the same thing she did as a child.

Daisy was standing in Coulson's office after a mission to rescue another newly transitioned inhuman, having taken Bobbi's advice to tell her team she was pregnant. 

Which is where she is now.

"Damn..." Hunter said earning a whack in the back of the head from Bobbi. "Ow!" He exclaimed

"Shhhh." Bobbi shushed

Daisy was expecting at least either Coulson or May to yell at her and tell her how irresponsible she had been but instead, Coulson walked around his desk towards the girl he saw as his daughter and gave a fatherly her. May gave her a much shorter hug and rubbed a few circular motions on her back before pulling apart.

"We support you." Coulson said, May nodding along. 

"Thank you." Daisy said now practically in tears.

"Who's the father?" Mack asked after a few moments of silence, speaking up for the first time.

"Don't tell me it's Ward." Hunter groaned earning another what to the back of the head. Hunter hissed in pain rubbing the spot he was hit.

"It's not Ward you idiot!" Bobbi said sticking up for her friend "It's Lincoln, obviously." Bobbi spoke the truth sending a playful wink to Daisy causing the girl to shake her head smiling. 

Daisy can tell Coulson seemed tense and wanted to ask her to make sure it actually wasn't Ward, so the girl sent a slight nod to her father figure. She could tell he seemed almost relieved.

"Well, in that case, I think we've got good news for you, Skye." Coulson said

"Daisy!" Everyone in the room corrected his mistake in unison.

"Right, Daisy. Still haven't gotten the hang of it." Coulson said as he walked over to the monitors in his office and pulled up a picture of Lincoln. "We found Lincoln." Coulson paused before continuing. "He works at a hospital in Cincinnati."

Lincoln walks to the front desk of the hospital shuffling, looking through some paperwork.

"You finish your rounds, Lincoln?" One of Lincoln's co-workers ask him.

He looks up at her giving her a friendly smile "I'm trying" He replies looking back down, sighing. "Patient in 305's a little bit of a talker, I hear." His co-worker chuckles.

Lincoln walks away, smiling. Lincoln finally feels like he belongs somewhere again.

Lincoln walks in a room, pulling open the curtains revealing Daisy, sitting on a bed. 

Daisy looks up at Lincoln while Mack walks out from behind the door, slamming it shut.

Lincoln sighs "What are you doing here? I said to leave me alone."

Daisy would never admit it to him but her heart broke to hear him say that. After their one night, she had developed feelings for him, and not to mention their child in her that he had no idea about. But, she pushed all of those feelings down for the sake of their mission. 

"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't important." Daisy answered, swallowing the lump in her throat.

"We need your help." Mack said from behind Lincoln practically towering over him.
