3- pull me closer to you

"What a scared kid, haha." I hear the voice of my classmate natalie, speaking to her friend about me. I pretend to not be bothered and i exhale, filling my head with papa's presence and staying calm. I sip on the can of coke and look at the television, sitting on the sofa by myself as almost everyone was in the backyard, enjoying their bodies in the warm wetness of the pool.

Sometimes i think it's all my fault and that i'm not less than a burden for my father, who cares for me the way even my real dad didn't. I try my best to avoid these thoughts and as much as i go away from them, the even more they engulf my feelings. I'm a scaredy-cat.

"Someone's alone." Wonho sits beside me, not asking me if i needed him here or not and he places the cigarette in his mouth, making me very uncomfortable. "I- you cannot smoke beside me." I slide away from him as he removes the stick and gazes at me with confusion, "okay okay i won't then." He holds my wrist as i get up. He stubs it out and throws it down on the floor. I sigh and sit down where i was sitting, "can you just leave me alone for now?" I say, obviously sounding a bit rude but i didn't seem to care. My head filled with my irritating thoughts.

He sneers and puts his hand around my shoulder, "you need some attention" He murmurs, laying back his head on the sofa. I frown at his words, "i get it from papa, you do not need to give it to me." I turn my head to the glass door and see the people swimming and playing with the water in the pool and jacuzzi.

"Okay leave that, tell me why're you all by yourself here?" He sits up and removes his hand from my shoulder to keep it on the sofa, behind my head. "I'm scared of swimming pools." I play with the hem of my shorts and as i look side at him, i watch him staring at me too.

"Uh no, why?" He insists to know more, lowering his ear to my mouth. "I just have a bad experience, some bad memories with it so..." I murmur. He shakes his head, "and these people invited you here without telling you that it's gonna be a pool party here. Such assholes." He clenches jaw and turns a bit angry, reminding me of the most important man in my life, papa. But i put my feet up and lay down, "maybe, i think i'll just go sleep." I whisper to myself and exhale.

My phone rings and before i even see the caller ID, i know it is him. "Hey, how're you?" I get up with my phone to my ear and walk to the staircase. "Honey, i told you to call me as soon as you reach, why hadn't you? I'm fine, everything is okay there?" He makes me smile at his words that reach my heart and i nod, "calm down papa, my phone was dead and i'm okay. Everything is okay here." I tell. He coughs a little. Clearing his throat, he speaks, "you didn't go to the pool area, right?" He asks me as i feel his voice a bit sore and it makes me worried. "I did not. I'm gonna sleep now. Why is your voice so haz-" He stops me, "its nothing dear, i just came out of the gym, it's alright here. Go, sleep. Goodnight, love." He says quickly and hangs up, behaving the way he perhaps never did before and he did not even wait for me to wish him too.

I keep the phone away from my ear and for the first time, i feel at stress after speaking to him. "He's your dad?" I turn around and see natalie, who must be spying at me since she always enjoys wasting her time. I nod, "yeah, i'm going upstairs." I say and walk past her to get upstairs to the bedroom. I put on my earphones and play the recording of him singing in his ethereally beautiful voice. I made a wrong decision by coming here.

Morning

"Wake up..." My eyes open up to a man's hair covering my eyesight. I gasp but move deeper into my pillow and he peers at me, grinning, "oh i'm sorry hehe." He bites his lower lip but moves back and stands up properly, his face tinting red. I snake my hand under the blanket to slide down my top and i sit up, "oh god...what's the time?" I ruffle my hair kempt it, noticing that i'm surrounded by few people. It's so much to handle for an introvert, like me .
