"Daddy! Should I grab the balls?"
"Oh yeah, I'm coming in a min!"
You instantly jump out of your bed and peek through your window, trying your best to catch a glimpse of him after hearing his familiar voice. Kim Seokjin walks out into the backyard of his small home next door wearing a baseball glove. He cutely pats his 4 yr old son's shoulder before taking the balls from him, then getting in position and softly pitching them. The little boy misses each shot with his kiddie sized bat, but Seokjin keeps sweetly encouraging him.
It's been a while since you've last seen Seokjin. He's somehow always been a part of your life though cuz he's your older sister's best friend. He was your first crush growing up, someone you secretly fawned over for years and years, even still feeling a tingle in your heart as your eyes stay fixed on his stunning body.
"(y/n)? Hey! I didn't know you were back from college!"
Shit. You freeze up as Seokjin's eyes lock in with yours, his head shifting to your direction as he catches you staring out the window.
"Hey! Yup I just got back yesterday" you reply, trying to hide the fact that you're fully flustered by the way he just looks at you.
"Noona!!!!"
Your attention now gets diverted to the small boy, a mini Seokjin, whose enthusiastically waving at you and smiling away.
"Look who it is! Our Jinhae looks so grown up" you grin at Seokjin's son, softly waving your own hand at him in return.
"Congrats on your masters degree! We've all missed you" Seokjin says, and you blush at that, although you're extremely thankful he can't see your pink cheeks as he's far away from you.
He keeps up with your life and has been close with your family for years as he used to come over a lot to hang out with your sister, but he'd gotten even closer after moving into the neighboring house. Right after he got married to his sweetheart.
Seokjin's perfect life had come crashing down when his wife unexpectedly passed away two years ago in a car accident. He's been taking care of Jinhae alone while handling a job, and he's grateful your family's always been there to support him.
"Thanks a lot! I'm gonna enjoy my summer until my job starts in a month" you inform him, the smile on your face refusing to wipe off as you keep admiring his tall figure in the distance.
"Cool, let's hang out sometime and catch up" Seokjin playfully says, returning back to pitching the ball to Jinhae after you happily give him a thumbs up.
