Deepika's Point Of View

***

The hospital was in a flurry, people were running left to right in complete chaos. I was standing in the middle of it all, and I mean this figuratively. I wasn't standing smack in the middle of the hospital but was actually in the middle of a crowd staring at the elevator.

"Excuse me-?" I huffed and tried to shoulder my way through the crowd, and I heard a squeal.

"I freaking cannot believe that a cricketer is going to be in this boring old hospital for a month!" One of the nurses chose that second the squeal and jump with joy, the action was mirrored by the whole crowd. I was jammed in a crowd of fangirls. Giving up, at last, I wormed my way through the crowd.

I decided to try and use the old rustic elevator that people tried to avoid.

Fingers crossed there isn't a swarm of lunatics there too...

All this fuss over some lousy celebrity! It didn't make sense to me, plenty more than half of the doctors and staff in the crowd had patients to attend to. I had to use the elevator to go to the floor that I worked in, which was coincidental, the top floor.

I wasn't going to climb around fifteen flights of stairs! I saw a guy walk into the ancient elevator, and hold the door out when he saw me rushing.

"Thank you!" I breathed and stepped inside the elevator, the lights flickered as usual. My mind was adrift in my own thoughts. The only reason the owner of the hospital hadn't destroyed this ancient elevator was that he met his wife there. The people who worked at the hospital penned it as 'A Place To Find True Love'

I considered that a load of nonsense. The Elevator was where I broke up with Arun, my first ever boyfriend.

The Elevator started to shake and the machinery hummed. I frowned and grabbed onto the beam. The elevator began to have a temper tantrum of its own.

Please! Please don't let me be trapped in this elevator!

"Ack!" An unelegant squeak escaped from my lips and echoed around the rapidly descending elevator. My sweaty palms lost grip on the beam and I fell toward the other human in the elevator. We both collapsed on the linoleum floor of the elevator, and let out a sigh of relief.

Guess I'm stuck in here..

Deepika be like: Bhagvan! This elevator must not stop!
