Shreyas's PoV

I glanced at my phone, the contact name 'Shalini' staring back at me. There was something going on that no one was telling me about. Shalini was an heiress to one of the most read tabloids in India. If anyone could find out what happened, it was her. But here's the catch.

I dumped her.

She was too clingy for my taste, seeking attention and needing to be reconfirmed if I was in love with her. It pissed me off, and I broke it off in public place. Even when I see her now, she's still pretty angry. I can understand why, not only did I dump her, I ruined her public image.

Gathering up my fakest personality and smile, I pressed the call button. She picked up on the second ring, "What do you want?"

I sighed softly, "Look, I'm sorry-"

"Shreyas, I don't need my time wasted. What do you want?" She snapped, the fact that she's known me since I was three played into factor here. She could tell when I was lying to her face.

"I need a favor?" I hesitated before stating out each word carefully. The line went silent, I glanced at it to make sure the call hadn't been cut. It wasn't, Shalini is never silent.

"HA!" She snorted at last into my ear, startling me. I nearly dropped the phone, juggling with it for a few seconds to regain my grip. "A Favor? Wow!" She paused, "You really are an asshole."

"It's nothing personal," I sighed, massaging my temple. "I'll pay you."

"Fuck, no." She responded automatically but paused when she heard the word 'money'. "How much?"

"Depends on how well you do the job," I responded evenly, she let out a wry chuckle. "Fine."

"Whatdya need?" She said, I sat down on my couch. My sister glancing at my curiously and my dog seeking attention. "Information, information regarding Sharma Hospitals."

Her line went silent once more, "Fine."

This one word was much more strained but she sighed softly. "I'll call you tomorrow."

"Kya?" My sibling glanced at me. spawn of the devil if I tell her, she'll tell ma, I thought to myself. "Nothing."

The next day, I found myself shocked. I reread the article I'd been forwarded by an anonymous source twice, Arun is married?

"What the hell is even going on around here!" I groaned, dropping a pillow onto my face to muffle my grumbles. That's when Shalini called,

"Your not gonna believe this." She whispered, "But that hospital has a whole conspiracy behind it!"

"Someone was murdered in it."
