Arun's PoV

What would you feel like if everything you'd lived for was a lie?

I woke up in a foreign environment, one that was wealthy. People surrounded me, claiming that they were relatives. I never had a family. Soon after the hospital, the moment I was admitted, the employees searched for a family to call and inform. My father, I never knew, he'd simply abandoned me and my mother died through childbirth. The nursemaid who'd raised me passed away when I turned 23. An elderly woman watched me when I woke up from my so-called coma.

"I'm your grandmother," She croaked in a raspy whisper.

My mother was a wealthy young woman; she'd fallen in 'love' with the driver of the house. The Driver, my father, was an ambitious asshat. The two of them had 'escaped' from the house, my grandmother's assumption that my father was a horrible man ended up correct. He'd left my mother two months pregnant with another woman. I was  raised by a nursemaid who viewed me as her very own son. The nurse worked at a hospital, the hospital where I met Deepika.

Deepika was a ray of light, she treated me normally, not like a charity case that most of society viewed me as. She doesn't remember, I was relatively close with her during childhood. But her lifestyle was different, branded clothing to expensive toys, she had life handed to her. We drifted apart and met once more during one of my lectures. India's leading surgeon, Arun Iyer. I felt worthy of her affections, I felt that I could treat her well. But not as the queen she deserved to be. Waking up, learning that I'm the only heir to a rich family, it was a blessing in disguise. I could propose to her, and be that life partner that she needs.

But the question was, who the hell was this guy?

He stood a few inches shorter than me, a frown tugged at my lips. The tips of his hair gray, and he wore expensive clothing.

Is he her boyfriend?
