Shreyas's PoV

I awaited patiently to see her response to my sudden "confession"; I was lying. I just wanted to know if she cared. She sat perfectly still, but her eyes were nothing but still. Emotions flew through them. She fiddled with her hands and stole another glance at me.

"Deepika?" I broke the uneasy silence between us. Her almond-shaped eyes met mine after a heavy sigh broke off her lips. "Since we're being honest, I have.. had... a boyfriend" She paused, searching my face for my reaction.

The world tunneled, my gaze fixated on the walls of our metal cage. I thought Deepika was the one, I thought Deepika was my Juliet, but then again, that story had a tragic ending.

"I guess we're both liars." I chuckled, masking the sudden hurt. She let out a weak laugh, "I guess so."

"I used to be the chubbiest boy in my part of Mumbai." The words began spilling out my mouth, insecurities, and stories that I kept hidden. That kept tearing me down, coming out once more. "I felt insecure. I hated being called fatty. I thought everyone hated me just because I ate."

I tore my eyes away from the metal wall to glance at Deepika, who looked at me with a curious expression. "I once passed out because of my so-called diet, which was just me not eating."

Her confused expression morphed into one of concern, "There I was, laying on the ground when this girl came up to me."

Realization dawned on those beautiful brown eyes. But I wasn't finished talking yet. "She slapped me and poured Pani Puri Water on me."

"Her dad was a doctor, and I'm still in touch with that old man." I ducked away from her penetrating gaze, "He spoke about his daughter so fondly, so much so that I felt like I knew her myself. Her dad called me to his hospital to meet her, to speak with him too."

At last, I looked into her eyes. She kept her gaze even with mine, inhaling a breath to say,

CLIFHANGER, MUAHAHHAHAHA

No, not a cliffhanger just kidding with you.

"It's Gol Gappe."

I blinked at her a few times, taken aback by her response. "What-?"

"Gol Gappe Ki Pani, not Pani Puri Water." She shrugged. The edges of lips twitched.

"But since you've gotten into the mood of deep dark secrets." She stopped, hesitating.

"It can't be worse then me practically stalking you," I attempted at a joke to lighten that burden on her shoulder that she was struggling to share.

"I might have killed my own boyfriend."

HA. WHO SAID I WASNT GONNA FINISH THE CHAPTER WITH A CLIFFHANGER

It's still a cliffhanger,
