people were supposed to sleep at night.

but it seemed like jeno and mark didn't know anything about that.

it was 3a.m., and the boys were sitting on their beds, packs of chips surrounding them, a soft music playing in the background, and they were talking.

well, mark was. jeno listened.

"i swear, he's the most perfect person i've ever met." mark stated dreamily.

"come on, i'm sure you can find better."

"better doesn't exist, jeno." mark replied. "lee donghyuck is already perfection."

jeno hummed and shrugged, placing a handful of chips inside his mouth.

sure, donghyuck looked good, but it was nothing compared to renjun.

in jeno's opinion, even jaemin looked better than donghyuck.

and jeno didn't like jaemin.

so, this meant that the boy wasn't this perfect.

"he's the sweetest boy out there." mark continued. "today chenle came to us. and he acted like an angel towards him."

"who's that?"

"remember the jisung kid who prevent you to end jaemin's life in the library a few days before?" mark asked. "chenle is his best friend."

"and he talked to you?"

"yeah." mark nodded. "hyuckie and i were in the bathroom and- "

"hyuckie..." jeno laughed.

"hey! it's my nickname for him." mark whined.

"that's cute, mark."

"that's because everything about him is cute!" mark told.

"sure, sure." jeno rolled his eyes. "whatever, keep going."

mark coughed before continuing his story.

"so, chenle was feeling weird, and he told hyuckie and i about it, and we explained to him that it was because he was in love with his best friend."

"wow." jeno said, not really phased by all this story. "and what's the link with your hyuckie there?"

"he was so caring towards chenle even if he didn't know him! and he gave him good pieces of advice! i wonder if he also uses them for his relationship."

jeno swallowed the high amount of chips he had in his mouth.

"see by yourself." jeno told.

"what?"

"what did he say?"

mark though for a few seconds.

"he explained that you couldn't be sure if the other liked you back. so, you needed to try things and see if he accepted them." mark started. "he mentioned about cute nicknames, small touches, little attentions..."

jeno raised a brow, looking at mark.

"and is 'hyuckie' doing those things with you?" jeno asked, emphasing on the nickname.

mark thought for a while.

donghyuck did try to look for a nickname for him.

the cutest he found was the first thing he used to refer to him.
