I'm freaking out. I'm freaking out like ten times more than I was last time we spoke, and with good reason too. Why am I freaking out? I have 10 days until I move in with my girlfriend. We bought a lovely, rustic house in the Lake District and I can't wait to move in but I really didn't think all of it would come so fast. I don't know if I'm ready for something like this. Don't get me wrong, I love the hell out of her but it's just a little scary. We're moving across the country and living together. That's a pretty big step. Not to mention, this'll be the first time I've really lived on my own. I lived at home during uni to save money... for, well, this. It's crazy. It's all a little crazy. But, hey, you're here with me now.
So, where did we leave off last time? After the rejection and mutual decision between me and Olivia to stay as friends, that is.
Oh, yeah, that's right. Everyone's happy. Everyone's older. Olivia has a long-term boyfriend, Matthew, and they're actually engaged, which is fun. They met in the summer between college and uni and, honestly, I didn't expect them to last as long as this but, these last two years, they've really come together and I see them going the distance together now. They're honestly great.
And, as much as I love them, they really have picked a bad time to do this wedding thing. Or maybe we picked a bad time to move houses? I don't know, I'm not gonna put blame on anyone. Seriously though, along with the fact that this will be my first house and the first time me and Anna have lived together longer than a week, their wedding being a week before we move is a little stressful. I've got to focus on that and then do a neck-breaking 180° to focus on moving.
Anyway, speaking of great couples, Patrick is now married. It's still so weird for me to say that. I mean, I still remember him as the socially awkward tween that I met 14 years ago. It's funny to me to think of him as he is now. He's got a cool, manly beard and is rocking that like medium-long hair swept back kinda look. He's thriving really. Not to mention that him and his wife have been trying for a kid recently. He and his wife have pretty much done everything else; having a kid is all that's left. They've moved in together, they're married, you know, what else can you do when married?
Eddy is less prominent in my life, unfortunately. He's a pretty big business man now and is constantly travelling so there's just not much free time to catch up. It's either jet lag, different time zones or meetings. Still, the dude is a great friend and I love when we do get to catch up every year or so.
That's about it for my friends though. So, I guess, I should probably catch you up on me. Since we last spoke, me and my girlfriend, Anna, have stuck really close – hence why we've decided to move in together now she's all done with her education. I've also finished one of my shows, which was great. I loved it and it was really bittersweet to see it end, especially since it was based on my own life experiences. It was a real end to that chapter of my life. Now I'm working on a new fantasy show that's currently close to Game Of Thrones in all time peak popularity, which is ridiculous, and I'm writing my first ever feature screenplay too. I'm busy. I'm very busy, but these next couple of weeks are going to be all about me and my friends and moving and my girlfriend and all that jazz. Writing is being put on hold because it's time for another big series of events in my life.
I'm glad you're back to experience this mess, which will no doubt be bigger this time around – I mean, we're adults now so our messes tend to be a little more important than just crushes amongst friends. Anyway... I'm glad we're doing this again. Welcome back to the chaotic mess that is my life.
