The next few weeks seemed to go by quite quickly, but i remembered every second of them. It wasn't someone else's perspective anymore, it was always mine.
Eventually i became well enough to start going out with friends again, and in a bold move i decided to go to my first party in about a year.
Jake and Georgie were set to pick me up in about half an hour and i still hadn't chosen what to wear. I stood in front of my wardrobe, it was a small white ikea number with an industrial flare that i loved.
Jake:
Chloe are you almost ready we're going to be earlyChloe:
yh so about that. no. no i am not.i turned my phone off and sighed, placing it in my back pocket.
Come on, Chloe, it's just a stupid party.
i decided to go with a slightly neater version of what i would wear normally, an oversized white t-shirt tucked into mum jeans and a belt all wrapped up in an oversized yellow shirt. For shoes i stuck to what i know: sunflower converse.
I applied light makeup before hearing a rather loud knock at the door and breathing deeply i let in my excitable friends.
"You look beautifullllll!"
I smiled shyly
"Thank you Georgie"
"Are you ready to go Chlo?"
I nodded and locked the door behind me before heading out to Georgie's new red mini.
"It's very suave i'll grant you."
She chuckled.
"Oh i know, everyone will be jealous."
"Well i don't know if i'd go that far i'm still waiting to see if it'll go up the hill with all three of us in it."
Before long we arrived at someone's house - I believe it may even have been Ollie's house, hardly surprising but interesting that Jake and Georgie actually wanted to attend.
You could practically feel the ground shaking from twenty metres down the road, the bass was absolutely thumping no doubt from some shitty house playlist on spotify. Pools of people congregated in the garden out front and through the windows, indoors looked like even more chaos.
"I'll see you guys later i need to talk to Jenine about something!"
"Wait what?"
Georgie slipped away before i got the chance to stop her. Excellent. My first party and she's already abandoned me.
"Could've at least waited a song or two."
"It's Georgie what did we expect."
"Well then Jakey boy it's me and you."
We made our way to the 'dance floor' and bopped around for a few songs, desperately trying to escape the overall clatter and occasional sudden moves of the crowd when someone came crashing through. The floor was sticky which was...not reassuring, you could feel your shoes peeling off the ground every time you went to move your feet.
In the end, Jake turned to me.
"I'm going to go and talk to that group of guys, see if i can start anything with one of them."
I rolled my eyes, my friends the whores.
"See you later."
Seeing as i didnt particularly feel like partying on my own, i slowly shuffled my way across to the drinks table, where all sorts of liquids were spilled on a makeshift table cover. I delicately reached for a diet coke and added some vodka into it.
