I watch as the bags are being loaded into the cars. I shiver and pull my coat tighter as a cold breeze hits me. Its been less that an hour since Lucas and Cheryl decided to send me back home. Home. It does feel like going back home. Even though i have lived there for only a few weeks, it feels like home. I am glad to go back. But i dont exactly think thats a good option. I think the palace is way secure than the town i am heading back to.
Dont get me wrong, i prefer my cute little home back in town to this palace but i am worried about everyone. Elena, Andrian, Edwin and Catherine they are all coming with me. And i am putting their life in danger again and i dont want that. And plus i have to go back to school and pretend that everything is normal and do my homework. Its all getting a little too much to deal with. But its ok. I will work through it. Maybe i should try meditation.
"Scheming to run away again are you, princess?" Someone says, making me jump.I turn around and glare at Lucia for scaring me. She raises an eyebrow at me as she comes to stand beside me.
"I am thinking how fast i can run after stabbing you." I say with a straight face. Lucia laughs, loud and clear.
"Dont be so delusional half-breed, you could never stab me." She says, her tone teasing.
"Don't test me, i am tempted to stab you just to prove you wrong." I warn her. She grins in reply. We both stand next to eachother in comfortable silence. Lucia has grown on me. Yeah she is rude and quite a bitch but she is being not so bitchy lately. I can consider her as an actual friend. She has grown on me.
"Father wants me to stay. He wants to send me and Charles away." She says. I raise my eyebrows at her.
"Why?" I ask.
"Its best if Caspian doesnt know that Charles has been captured. So i and Charles would be travelling and reporting to Caspian like he normally would. And i am to keep an eye on him and tell Father everything i learn." She explains.
"So basically you are going away on a vacation with my half - brother who is your soulmate and sworn enemy." I conclude. Lucia's answering smile could blind people. Well atleast someone is going to be happy.
"Even though i am not going to be with you, your training must continue. Because you are just really bad Chantel."
"Hey! I am not that bad. And Andrian can teach me instead of you."
"I am not even going to consider Andrian training you. Everyone knows you both will be ripping off each other's clothes within seconds." She says with a knowing look and my cheeks redden but i dont bother denying what she said. We all know its true.
"Then who is going to be training me?"
"Lillian would be training you." She replies and i groan. Not to be a bitch but Lillian is just a little too chipper for me. And i cannot imagine training with her rambling on and on. She is sweet and nice but i am a little cynical today. What can i say? Lucia is rubbing off on me.
"My sympathies are with you but there is no one as skilled as Lillian. Her abilities are going to be helpful as well." Lucia says.
"What are her abilities?" I ask, curious.
"Other than rambling, she is a really good fighter. She is better than some of the Hunters even." My eyebrows raise at that. I surely underestimated Lillian.
"One of the main reasons my Father kept her around was because she could sense lies and truths." Lucia said glancing at me."How is that even possible?" I ask, surprised.
"We dont understand how her ability works. But it works very well. She sense when someone is telling the truth and when someone isnt. That is one of the reasons the King and Queen keep her so close to them." Lucia explains.
"Wow. That is really interesting. But also dangerous. If she is completely loyal to the King. She can single handedly unravel all our plans and secrets." I say, getting worried.
"I know. That is why i am warning you to be very careful around her. Do not lie to her. Half truths will help. Do not underestimate her. She may seem naive and sweet but she is very dangerous." Luica said, turning towards me, concern written all over her face. I nod completely agreeing with Lucia, dread pooling in my stomach.
