After Charles told us about Caspian's spies, he was sent to the dungeons. King Lucas caught all the spies and executed them. I didnt stay back to watch that. I followed Charles to the dungeons with Andrian and Rajah on my sides. The dungeons were creepy. They were extremely dark and cold. But thankfully they did not stink. Charles was put into one of the dungeons and sat outside his dungeon. I still had many questions for him.

The floor was cold and kinda damp but i didnt care much about it. Rajah sat down beside me, grumbling about getting his fur dirty. I smiled and ran my fingers through his soft and shiny fur, thanking him for being here with me. I looked up at Andrian. My heart fluttered in chest when i saw the tenderness in his gaze. He leaned in and kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes, feeling the tingles. He gave me a tender smile and then left.

He kinda didn't want to intrude when it came to me and Charles. Andrian knew how important it was for me to talk to Charles. He also knew that Charles wouldnt talk in front of Andrian. So Andrian left, though he only left because Rajah was there with me. I think Rajah and Andrian kinda took turns looking after me. It was kinda annoying but it was also nice. It felt good to be looked after. I smiled and then turned to Charles.

"This is fascinating little sister. The choices you have made and your journey has been quite unexpected. If i didnt know better i would think that you are actually going to kill father." Charles spoke and sighed.

"Tell me about him." I say, not replying about the stuff about killing Caspian. I couldnt tell him anything until i was sure he wouldnt betray me.

"Father is very cunning. He enjoys being ahead everyone and defeating his enemies. He is very practical and logical with no shred of humanity. He is a sadist with a vision. He will do anything to turn his vision into reality. He doesnt care who dies or lives. The only thing that matters to him is his empire. Lucky for us, we both are a part of his vision and empire. So he will care about us." Charles explained in a monotone voice.

He did not seem disappointed or sad about how Caspian was. He just accepted it all. I looked at Charles carefully, searching for any pain or sadness. I found none. Either Charles was very good at having a poker face or he had just accepted everything. I sighed, looking away. I didnt like how people described Caspian.

I know it might be true that he is a heartless psychopathic maniac but i didnt want him to be one. I wanted him too be good too. Just a little. Ugh! I kinda sound pathetic. But like even Klaus Mikaelson changed for the better when it came to his daughter. I was kinda hoping for something like that.

"How did you not break from all the torture bestowed upon you by Lucia?" I ask him. I was really curious about it. I am pretty sure Lucia spent hours trying to break him. I knew that she knew exactly how to break someone. So it was quite surprising that Charles had still been so cheerful and composed.

"Well as i said, Father is a very cunning vampire. He had anticipated that when he would send me around the world to gather more Half-vampires, i would be captured and persuaded to give information. So he took it upon himself to make sure i never break or say something i dont want to no matter how much i am persuaded." Charles said, tonelessly, looking at the wall with a small frown.

"How did he do that?" I asked, my voice falling to a whisper, scared of what the answer would be.

"Ever since i turned 17, he spent hours teaching me how to fight. How to fight with knives, swords, fists, hands tied and blind folded. After i had learnt how to fight well enough, he started testing the strength of my spirit. Everyday he would try breaking me. He also taught me how to heal and fight even when my bones were broken. After a few decades, you get used to not get affected when someone breaking every bone in your body. At first i loathed him for what he did, but today, i am thankful for it." He said, smiling sadly.
