The sound of glass shattering echoed through the manor...

Everyone was still for a moment. Stunned. But the sound of footsteps descending the stairs snapped everyone out of it. Charlie ran into the kitchen without hesitation and grabbed a few knives. Passing them out to everyone, he put a finger to his lips; shhh. They nodded silently. Mick was terrified. He held the knife in his hand trembling. Mick T whispered something to him, which made Mick summon up some courage. The zombie stumbled down the hallway moaning loudly. As it turned the corner to enter the kitchen, Charlie came out and stabbed the Zombie in the eye. The zombie howled in pain, and jumped on top of Charlie. As Charlie lay there helpless, Bill swooped in and savagely shanked the zombie until it no longer moved. Charlie looked up at Bill and thanked him with his eyes, traumatized and covered in zombie blood. "Lord almighty, that was some great knife skills Bill!" Ronnie exclaimed cheerfully. As the Stones congratulated Bill he blushed, not used to all the attention. "Alright then, Ronnie and I will clean up the floor and get rid of the zombie." Keith stated. Bill nodded and said, "I'll help clean up Charlie." Mick was still utterly terrified, and Mick T said, "I have to console the fragile one." Mick glared at him for a moment, but quickly went back to being scared as Ronnie chuckled.

For the next few hours everyone was quiet and doing their own thing. Charlie had cleaned up and recovered from the Zombie attack, Mick had fallen asleep in Mick T's arms on the sofa, with Ronnie sitting beside them, and Keith was on the balcony of his and  Ronnie's room smoking. Bill was patching up the window in the Micks's room listening to music.  "It's noon already? Well, better tell the others." Bill said to himself. He left his work area and came downstairs. "Hey Mick?" Bill said. "Huh?" Both Micks said at the same time. "Which one?" Mick asked. Bill laughed and said Mick T. "Will you help me make lunch?" "Sure. What time is it?" Mick T said. "Noon," Bill replied. "Noon? No wonder my stomach is rumbling." Ronnie chimed in. Mick T and Bill began making lunch while everyone else sat in the living room watching tv. Keith came in to join them. The zombie invasion warning was still on the news. Mick changed the channel. Some sitcom was on, so they watched it. Well, they let it play in the background and talked. "Hey Ronnie?" Bill asked. "Yeah?" Ronnie answered. "Can you set the dining table for me?" "Sure!" Ronnie walked over to Bill in the kitchen. Eventually Mick, Charlie, and Keith stopped talking and watched the sitcom. Everything was calm now. Keith thought about the zombies; about how they were going to survive them, and what was coming next. The three of them sunk into their thoughts.

Bill broke the silence; "Lunch time!" The Stones all sat around the table. Lunch was pesto pasta with garlic bread on the side. Everyone began eating eagerly. Keith broke the silence. "I think we need to address the zombie issue.." He said. Everyone stopped eating,  Mick too. "Should we leave?" Ronnie asked. Charlie piped up. "I have been doing some research, and I found out some things." Everyone was quiet, waiting for Charlie's information. He spoke. "First; the zombie invasion started in the US about 1 and a half months ago. It only got to Europe as of this morning. Second; the best way to kill zombies is by stabbing them in the head, that's the only way they'll die." Ronnie cut in. "Do we have any guns here? I bet we could shoot the zombie in the head and it will die instantly." "Yes, I think there are a few hand guns along with three shotguns in the basement," Keith answered. "That would also work," Charlie said. "I also found that there is a 'safe haven' of sorts located on the coast. The people running it have been preparing for the invasion since it hit America a month back. It would probably take us 2 weeks of driving, with proper supplies, to get there."  It seemed like this proposal could work, but the other Stones had some questions. "What kind of supplies will we be needing?" Mick asked. "I have a vague idea, but I need to make a list." Charlie replied. "We can't leave right away, it will take a few days to get prepared." Everyone nodded in agreement. "How long will it take to become prepared?" Mick T asked. "It may take up to a week, I really am not sure." Charlie answered. "But what if while we're prepping some zombies come and attack us?" Mick shivered. "I believe if we're all quiet and only go outside on the balconies, we'll be alright." Charlie said. The Stones continued to discuss the proposal, narrowing down the pros and cons of this operation, and how realistic some of the tasks required to have this work are. And as the day wore on, the closer they came to their answer...
