Chapter 24

I approached the never ending hallway. In the corner of my eye, I saw two figures. I quickly turned around and recognized the two figures. Ty and Adam.

I sighed as they looked at me.

"Pipes..." Ty said.

I looked down at my phone then at the knife in my pocket. I shook my head as I past my friends. They followed behind me.

Adam drove me back to our hotel while the other boys went and explored. It was silent along the car ride. I was planning to say something but I didn't bother.

Adam pulled up to the hotel and said, "I want you to get some rest.."

I just looked at him. I opened the door and walked to the room.

I swiped the key card and the door clicked open. I signed as I walked in. I took the pocket knife out of my pocket and placed it in a cabinet above the stove in the kitchen.

I dragged myself to my bed and got under the cold covers. I drifted off into sleep soon after.

I woke up to the sound of someone saying my name. I looked up and saw Mitch. I swear I'm crazy. Why do I keep hallucinating? In a flash, Mitch turned into Ty.

"Yea.." I replied.

"Oh..I was just making sure you weren't dead or anything." He said.

"Wow.." I teased. Ty chuckled.

I sat up as Ty sat next to me on the bed. I called for Ty's attention.

"Do you think I'm crazy?" I asked.

"What? No. Why would you think that?" Ty replied.

"Well..Its pretty obvious." I said. "That knife.. it just-" I cut myself off.

"Piper, you need to stop playing the brave hero role and start being a teenager"

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Brave hero role?"

"I know you grew up pretty terrible and we are in no condition of being good fathers but acting like everything is ok is not exactly who you are." Ty explained.

I didn't say anything. Silence grew. I didn't take what Ty said offensive. Truth is.. its true. I was trying to act like the tough girl through all these dark times when really I just wanted to break down inside.
