Hospital

"Hello, our friend Will Lenney is in the emergency ward. Can you tell us what room he's in?" James asked the receptionist with a worried Alex and George cowered behind him. "Room two." She replied.

They rushed to the elevator and went to the emergency ward. James and George sat on the bench opposite the door for room two, Alex leant next to the door listening to the beeps on the machine telling them his heart rate, it brought him the smallest bit of hope and comfort hearing Wills heart beat.

Alex slipped down the wall with tears starting to stream down his face, as he heard a long beep from the machine and someone shouting "we're losing him!" From Wills room.

The longest minute of James, George and especially Alex's life passed as the machine started to beep again. "He's back." A doctor said from the room. They all let out a massive sigh. "We need to phone his family, do either of you have his parents numbers?" James mumbled "no." George and Alex both replied. "Maybe Mia has their numbers.. I know they've broken up now but we still need to call his parents, it's not fair." George said. "They've actually broken up?" Alex questioned. "Yeah." George replied as he pulled out his phone searching for Mia's contact.

The phone started to ring and after about 30 seconds a man picked up.

Man: hello?? Why are you calling my girlfriend ?

George: oh uh hi. Can I talk to Mia I need to ask her a favour.

Man: fine be quick

Mia: uhm.. hey George?

George: Mia, do you have Wills parents number?? We need it.

Mia: yeah, why? What happened?

George: We're in hospital because Will was hit by a car..

Mia: What!!! Omg!! Uh, I'll text it to you. Hope he gets better.

*she ends call*
*text from Mia*

"Okay I've got his mum and his dads number, who wants to tell them? I don't wanna.." George asked, hoping that he didn't have too.
"Y'know what, Alex clearly isn't in the right mind and you've just had to call Mia so I will call them.." James spoke up as George passed his phone to James, whose hands were shaking with anxiety. He rang Wills parents who were in absolute shock and tears, they said they can't get their for another two hours.

After about 30 more minutes the doctors slowly started to leave the room except one who had to watch over Will for a while. Alex plucked up the courage to knock on the door and ask if they could see Will.. The doctor approved so they stepped inside, tears started to prick in George and James' eyes seeing Will hooked up to so many tubes and machines and wires everywhere, Alex was still crying his eyes out.

"Do you know what's going on, like if he'll be okay??" Alex choked out.
"Sorry to break it to you but we aren't sure.. he's in a coma and on life support, a lot of people don't wake up after that.. I'm sorry lads, there's still some hope though..." the doctor breathed. This just made Alex cry more.. James gave Alex a hug and moved him to the chair next to Wills bed.
