Alex's eyes drifted open after hearing a loud thudding noise from the lounge, it was still pitch black in the room and his eyes slowly started to adjust. He turned on his phone and the bright light beamed around the room, burning his eyes. It was 3:52 am. He turned over and realised Will wasn't in bed. 'That must've been him making that noise then, why is he awake' he thought to himself as he slowly sat up. He took a few steps closer to the door but then he heard two voices. It was Will, but who else was here at this time in the morning?
He turned the handle on the door and pushed it open.

"oh you're awake." Will said with a concerned look spread across his face. Aria was sat on the sofa opposite Will, her eyes were filled with tears. "Oh hey Aria.. what's going on..?" Alex sat on Wills lap. "J-James.." Aria struggled to breathe. "Hey.. hey it's okay. What happened?" Alex moved next to her and rubbed her back gently. "James tried to overdose.. a-and I found him when I came home." She choked out. "Wait what??" Alex said. Will and Alex glanced at eachother with confused looks. "He didn't tell us he was struggling.. I didn't even know.." Will saddened. "Is he.. okay?" Alex worried. "Yeah, I called an ambulance and they took us to the hospital. But they said I couldn't come in yet so I got a taxi here... sorry it was the first place I thought to go." Aria sobbed "i knew he was having a hard time but you know what James is like. He prefers to do things himself and tends to refuse help." She finished. "Fucking hell.. I'm so sorry Aria." Alex hugged her. "You can stay here as long as you need. We do have to go to my parents for a day or two though.." will told her. "Why would he do it on Christmas Eve though?!" Alex frowned.

It was now 4:36 am and all three of them were very tired. "Thanks for letting me stay here guys" Aria said "goodnight" she finished.
"Night, yeh get a good night sleep. We will probably be gone by the time you wake up. Make sure you keep us updated!" Alex told her. "Night" will slumped onto their bed. "Imagine if she didn't find him Alex. Why didn't he reach out to us." Will felt guilty. "Sometimes it's too hard to reach out. I don't blame him for it, I know how he must've been feeling.." alex unlocked his phone and searched for George's contact and rang him.

He picked up pretty quickly.

George:
"Hey? You alright??"

Alex:
"George.." Alex felt a strong pain in his throat, he was trying to hold it together.

George:
"What is it? Are you okay??"

Alex passed the phone to Will

Will:
"Hey it's Will, James tried to overdose.. Aria turned up at our flat at 4am literally inconsolable, it took us 30 minutes to get her to tell us what happened."

George:
"Oh my god.. is he alright? Fucking hell.."

Will:
"She said he's alive, but they told her to go home because no one can see him yet. So she came here."

After about ten minutes they ended the call. Alex had tears streaming down his face and Will was tearful. The taller boy spooned the smaller one who tucked his head inbetween Wills neck.

Alex's alarm started beaming at 9am. "Did you sleep okay?" Will asked in his croaky morning voice. "No I slept horribly.. you?" "Fucking terrible.. I can't believe Jimbo did that.. I really hope he's okay." Will told him.

After about ten minutes in bed Will got up and flicked the kettle on in the kitchen. "Coffee??" Will poked his head back into the bedroom where Alex was getting dressed. "Yes please".
Will walked to the bathroom while waiting for the kettle. He opened the door to see Aria asleep on the tile floor with her head against the wall. Will picked her up and took her to the spare room where she was meant to be asleep. "Why was she in there?" Alex asked. "No clue.. she probably couldn't sleep." Will frowned.

Not long after they could hear a faint vibration coming from Arias room. "OH MY GOD. Hello??!" She spoke in a concerned voice. "Okay I'm on my way" she literally sprinted out of her room and into the living room. "That was the hospital. I can see him." She rushed to put her shoes on and grabbed her bag. "Here's a key, you can stay here as long as you need considering it's closer to the hospital" Alex passed her the spare key. "Thank you so much" she said as she called a taxi.

"Bye!! I'll update you!!" She told them as she slammed the door behind her. "Okay we should probably get going too." Will clutched onto his phone and keys. "Okay let's go" alex followed Will out the door.
