He left

Liam's POV:
The next morning, I woke up to the smell of bacon. Are my parents home? I was very confused.

I got up from my bed and slid on some joggers before walking downstairs.

I got downstairs and walked into the kitchen to see Theo cooking breakfast.

I stared at him in awe, it was so cute that he knew how to cook.

Wait, cute? Theo is not cute, Liam. Stop it, brain!

Theo turned around and caught my eyes so I turned away.

"I didn't know you knew how to cook, Theo." I said looking back up at him. His eyes were drawn to my chest.

I blushed at his stare looking back at the ground.

"Uhm.. yeah. I learned a little over the years." Theo said turning back to the bacon.

"Well, it's cool. You should teach me how to cook sometime." I said.

"Sure, I was actually just about to wake you up because it's done so, perfect timing." He said smiling back at me.

I subconsciously smiled back.

Theo plated the breakfast and handed me one of the plates.

"Here ya go." He said before going to sit at the table.

I set my plate at the seat next to him and sat down.

"So, we should get ready for school soon. How early did you wake up?" I asked.

"4:30?" He said looking down at his palate.

"Theo, you only got a few hours then. Why did you wake up so early?" I asked putting my hand on his knee.

He looked at my hand on his knee before meeting my eyes.

"I just... woke up again and couldn't fall back asleep." He said.

I heard his heart skip.

"Theo, don't lie." I said.

"I'm not lying, but I've gotta get ready for school. I'm going to shower." He rushed out before getting up and putting his plate in the sink. He walked up the stairs and I finished breakfast alone.

About 20 minutes later we were both dressed and ready for school.

"You okay?" I asked when he reached the door.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He said with a fake smile.

Most people can't tell when Theo is upset, but I guess now that I've got to know him, I can easily tell when he fakes a smile.

I decided not to push him.

"Okay, C'mon." I said grabbing his hand and dragging him to the truck.

"You owe me rides for letting you stay here." I said.

"Okay." He chuckled.

We drove to school in slightly uncomfortable silence. When Theo parked in the lot, he got out of the car quickly. We walked into the building with me slightly trailing behind him.

We got in the building and I stopped at my locker, Theo just kept walking to class.

"W-wait- Theo-!" I yelled but he didn't stop.

"What's his deal?" I said to myself.

I quickly grabbed my bio book and chased after him. On the way I saw Hayden down the hall. My heart rate sped up at the sight of her.

God, she was gorgeous.

Oh! I still have to reschedule a day to get coffee with her.

I was about to go talk to her but the bell rang so I was going to have to do it after school. I walked into the bio lab and sat down next to Theo.

"You left me back there." I said with a small chuckle.

"Oh... sorry." He said with another fake smile.

I tried to say something back but the the teacher started talking so I had to be quiet.

Time skip to end of the school day:
I'm walking out of the school with Theo and he's still acting strange. He's been weird ever since breakfast.

As we were walking I saw Hayden again. I remembered how I needed to go make plans with her.

"Hey Theo, I'm gonna go talk to Hayden. I'll be right back." I said.

Theo looked defeated, exhausted, and sad. I felt bad for the poor boy. I didn't know what was wrong. It made my heart hurt to see him like that.

He just closed his eyes and nodded? Strange.

Oh well, I turned around and made my way to Hayden.

"Hey Liam!" Hayden said with her gorgeous smile.

"Hey Hayden!" I smiled back.

"So, what's up?" She asked.

"Well, I felt bad for canceling on you yesterday so I wanted to come see if I could reschedule." I said.

"Oh, yeah. Uhh, well I'm busy today." She said.

"Oh, so am I. Theo is acting strange and looks really tired. He hardly got any sleep last night so we were just gonna go home." I rambled.

"You guys live together?" She asked, looking really confused and kind of freaked out.

"Uhh, yeah. He's kind of homeless. So, I just let him stay with me." I explained.

"Okay... just be careful." Hayden said, obviously not trusting of him.

"He's changed, Hayden. He's got a good heart." I said.

"No, he has his sisters heart. Which he killed her for. People like that don't just change, Liam." She snapped.

"It's not his fault though. He's had a messed up life. He's done a lot to help us while you just got up and left." I snapped.

"Okay, okay. Just... never mind. When are you free?" She asked.

"Tomorrow." I said, still kind of angry at her.

"Okay, so am I." She smiled.

"Cool." I said.

"I've gotta go, I'll see you tomorrow!" She waved.

I waved back before turning around and heading back towards the cars.

I searched for Theo's car but it wasn't where he had it parked.

I looked around the lot. I couldn't find his truck anywhere. I saw Mason and ran over to him.

"Hey, did you see where Theo went?" I asked.

"Yeah, he left." He said.

"He left?"
