A mix of darkness and light flooded the individual’s eyes as he continued to fall deeper into only what he could imagine was hell. He had no idea how long he had been falling or why at all. He didn’t even remember who he was. He knew one thing. He was Human.

The human woke up on the ground in a room with no windows and seemly no door all that was in the room was the small bed in which he lay and a table with a cup upon it. He shot up and looked around, if he was in the room then there must be a way out the room. Suddenly he was shocked by his alertness. Why would he be afraid of this room? Who or what was he trying to escape from? The human lay back on the bed and started to run his hands through his hair as a way of gaining some clarity.

Hours passed or maybe it was only minutes but the human heard a noise and once again shot up. He saw that the room had changed; there was now food on the table and a window above it. Not knowing how this feat could occur he started to investigate… out of the window he could see what could only be described as a Kingdom build of black and white. There were houses of white that were so bright they could literally be made of light but then there were houses made of black so dark you could describe them as an abyss. Not sure of how this was possible either the human went to the table and started eating. Not sure of what it was he didn’t care he found whatever it was to be quite nice but after finishing he wished he had more. He settled back on the bed and began to fall asleep.

The human stood in a street, one that looked more familiar than the kingdom of black and white. He walked to a gate and pushed it open. The house was small but big enough to home a family. He walked to the door and pushed this open; to his surprise it swung open with ease. He walked through the corridor and straight into the living room. His vision by this point was not very good and he couldn’t make out the people who were sitting in the room. He went and sat down next to one of them and tried to distinguish what they were saying…

“Welco….. ome.. Iv…” said one of the undistinguishable individuals.

“We’…issed… ou..” said another.

Not sure who these people were didn’t really bother the human, he was quite happy with the company and decided to just sit with them a while longer. Time passed as it always does and soon the human awoke within the room again. That wasn’t a dream but a memory. Who were the people in the humans dream? Who was the human?

The human noticed that there was now a door attached to his little room and decided once again to investigate. He walked out the door to find a dark corridor continuing on this journey he reached a bigger room. The light of the room blinded him at first so he had to shield his eyes. When he’s eyes finally readjust he saw an elderly man sitting at a desk beaming at him. The old man was odd in general his eyes were all white yet his hair and facial hair was black. He had a grey hue to his skin and was donning a black and white robe that gave him a sort of majestic aura to him. It was around this time the old man spoke in a deep voice.

“Finally awake and moving I see? We were beginning to think you’d never leave that room?”

“How could I leave the room when it had no door? And how did you do that anyway? Make the door and window appear?”

The old man chuckled to himself which irritated the human. The human didn’t think he said anything funny.

“What’s so funny?” the human asked.

“Nothing my boy… Nothing. You see that room is special, the window appear because you wanted to see where you were. The food appeared when you felt hungry and the door appeared because you wanted to leave it. Until that point did you ever want to leave? And I don’t mean you wanted to escape I mean that you wanted to find the door to explore the outside?”

The human stared at the old man trying to find something to say. The old man was right, the room did everything that he wanted but how could it? He didn’t even know what he wanted.

“Who are you... and... who am I?” quizzed the human.

“Ahhh I knew that was coming and well this is not going to be easy but I need you to stayed seated and just trust me when I say this. This may be hard to take it and understand.”
