The Trial of Lumen, Marceline, Fionna and Marshall - Pain, Risk and Guilt
~Marshall grabbed at the winder and began to force it the opposite way, the music stopped so he kept going and going till he heard massive crashes and the sound of metal bending out of place from within the box. He let go and was relieved to hear the music had stopped. He went to climb back up to the platform then realised that he had gain back his ability to float. He flew back up as fast as he could...
"Lumen... Lumen no... don't leave me like this" Marceline cried cradling the Human in her arms as she tried to stop the bleeding. Marshall could tell from the edge of the platform that Lumen had bled a lot more after he'd left him from the smell of blood. He looked around and saw Fionna lying down near the other edge and rushed over to her. He lent close as he tried to wake her and heard her voice.
"Bag... Cy... tears... hurry..."~
------------------------------------------
Marshall flew as fast as he could to her bag; he ripped it open accidentally tearing it in two. "Bug milk... Gum essence... vial of wolf blood... Cyclops tears!" Marshall searched through the contents of Fionna's bag till he found what he was looking for. He grabbed the bottle and rushed back to the blonde human. He uncorked it and was about to pour some on her wounds when a bloody hand stopped him.
"Lume... Lumen first Marshy... He's hurt more..."
"But Fi you've lost so much blood..." Marshall was choking on his words as tears filled his eyes, "how could she still be putting others first?" was all he could think.
"Aha... [she coughs up some blood] don't worry I'm made of stronger stuff... than the Prince over there... now go help him first Marshy". Marshall knew she was right but still didn't want to; he floated over to Lumen and Marceline.
Marceline was still crying desperately as she held her hands on to his wounds trying to stop or at least slow the bleeding... Lumen's skin had turned back to a grey hue showing he didn't even have enough energy to keep his peachy skin. He was covered in a variety of bruises, cuts and wounds. "Oh lump... they really beat the hell out of you shade dude". Marshall lowered himself beside the pair.
"Marcy, you need to move so I can he-" Marshall started to say.
"NO! HE'LL DIE... HOW COULD YOU! HOW COULD YOU HAVE LEFT HIM TO FIGHT US ON HIS OWN; YOU'RE MEANT TO BE ME AND I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!" Marceline screamed at a stunned Marshall, she looked quite bad, her own wounds had long healed thanks to her powers but she had massive puffy eyes due to the crying, her hair was out of place and clotted with blood. She looked a mess.
"Marcy if you move I can save him but I need you to move... trust me... trust yourself" Marshall tried to logic with her hoping she'd let him help Lumen, he needed to hurry back to Fionna.
Marceline got out of Marshall's way but didn't take her eyes off him; he poured the liquid on the hole in Lumen's chest and covered his hands in it to rub into the various wounds over him. He heard a sizzle as the hole began to close and his wounds disappeared. The peachy colour in Lumen's face returned and he started to breathe more regularly. Feeling that he had done what he could Marshall left Lumen with Marceline. She had pulled him onto her lap and was stroking his hair.
Marshall flew back quickly to Fionna and splashed the rest of the Cyclops tears all over her wounds and body. He looked down and face turned into a massive frown... there was no sizzle and the liquid just ran off her body.
"...no... no... why won't it work" he said to himself trying to rub the liquid in. It still had no effect. Marshall tried to rub it in again but it still wasn't working.
