"These are signs!", the lady shrieked, her straw hat shaking vigorously. The task force sighed.
Ms. Oh, a middle-aged woman, had been visting the police facility regularly since the past few days. Her mother who used to be an astrologer in her heyday, was now an eighty-year old halmeoni revered by everyone in town. Although she maintained a low-key existence, the sudden changes in weather concerned her beyond measure.
Seokjin stared at Jungkook who reasoned with Ms. Oh.
"Ma'am, it is absolutely natural that the environment is-", he looked at Namjoon for help."-acting this way.", Namjoon offered. Jungkook rolled his eyes, such great help, hyung. I'm proud.
"Ms. Oh", Seokjin interrupted, "we will investigate further and restore normalcy in Do-bong.", he assured as Ms. Oh worriedly shook her head.
"This needs theological treatment. Practicality doesn't work here.", with one last sigh, she walked out leaving the task force perplexed."Ms. Oh and her mother are Pagans. They believe the rough sea and monsoon are indicating something with devastating consequences.", Namjoon spoke up.
"Why did she talk about a theological cure if she believes in nature worship?", Seokjin questioned.
"Just forget about it, you guys. We're detectives, not Zeus that we could control rainfall or what not.", Jungkook slid back to his workstation via the wheeled office chair, engrossing himself into the computer, playing solitaire.
"Technically, Zeus can control the rain. But when it comes to the sea, Poseidon can be of help.", Namjoon corrected as Seokjin laughed sardonically.
"I fathom these things don't even exist.", Jungkook replied nonchalantly eyes not leaving his screen.
There were a number of things to take care of in Do-bong. The town's security was the ultimate priority of the police department. A ballistic old lady prerending to be Nostradamus was hardly a concern.
Or, was it?
