THIRD PERSON POV

A morning walk to school always feels refreshing.

Until someone startled you by tapping your shoulder. "Ack!" You stopped her tracks and looked back, only to see Gou, your close friend, grinning like a fool. "Don't startle me like that, you—" You frowned and pinched her cheeks until she made a weird expression. "I am shorry." Her voice turned weird, too. You let your fingers off her cheeks; her cheeks redden as she rub them and pouted.

"So," She started. "about my brother." You coughed after get chocked because of your own saliva. "You met him, got his number, and now you're one step closer to be my sister-in-law." She chuckled as they continue their morning walk together. "Can we just don't talk about it? I got his number and I'm happy. That's... all." You trailed off and looked away to hide the two red cheeks. "You know, I will just tell you things about my brother. I'm not against you, after all." She wore a proud smile on her face, lighten up your mood.

"Umm, he's from Samezuka High and likes swimming. Almost love, but not that much, I guess. More or less, just like Haruka-senpai. Or, no." She giggled which made you giggle too. He was born on 2nd February. His specialty in swimming is butterfly style. He went to Australia to go for middle school. His current dream is to be an athlete." She explained with her eyes looking everywhere and that proud smile painted on her face.

"Thank you." You said after her eyes met yours. Both you and Gou smiled in unison before laughing. "Hey," You trailed off, holding back the things you wanted to say. "what do you think about the idea of me being your brother's... you know." Gou's brows lifted upward for a split second before she put on her smile from before. "That'll be nice." She said. "After all, I want him to have someone besides his current friends or his family." Gou smiled with a somewhat nostalgic smile combined with a moving smile.

(Y/N)'s POV

The sky is still too bright for an afternoon.

I went home alone because Gou has to go to the swimming club, considering she is their manager. Not wanting to go straight to home, I decided to visit a nearby cafe. To visit a cafe all by myself sounds... pathetic.

I pulled a chair and sat on it before ordering a(n) (drink). After the waiter served my order, I took a little sip while opening my phone to look for Matsuoka Rin's phone number. To be honest, this loneliness starting to kill me. Should I try contacting this person? Gou's brother?

Maybe a phone call would be a little too soon so I sent him a message.

To: Matsuoka Rin

Matsuoka-san? This is the girl from the park. The one who lost her dog and bumped into you. By the way, I now know that you're Gou's brother.

(y/n)

I turned off my phone a bit, hoping he would answer. The small vibrate from my pocket answering it.

From: Matsuoka Rin

You know Gou? What a coincidence. You know, I was considering if we could meet again. Was that suspicious?

Matsuoka Rin

To: Matsuoka Rin

No, that wasn't. You see, I was sitting alone right now in (cafe name). You want to meet, let's meet here.

(y/n)

Giggling to myself, I put down my phone and took another sip from my glass to calm down my loudly-beating heart.

From: Matsuoka Rin

Sounds like a plan.

I look towards the door every few seconds, hoping he would just come here already.

I looked down to calm myself before looking back to the door, only to see a familiar head, popping from the crowds of people whom are going to go out of the cafe. Even if I have only seen his appearance for just one day, I could remember correctly he has a catchy scarlet hair.

After he stepped inside the cafe, his eyes wander around, looking for someone. He saw me and smiled; oh, how adorable that smile of his.

"(y/n)? H-hi." He greeted awkwardly, piquing my curiosity and interest. "Hey." I kept my voice down while I actually wanted to squeal. He pulled the chair in front of mine and sit with his eyes glued to mine.

We sat in an awkward silence for few minutes; maybe we both nervous or we just don't have anything to talk about. Rin was the first to break the silence. "S-shall we call this a date? A first date?" He asked in a sightly shaky voice—his eyes looking downwards to hide some of his embarrassment. "M-maybe?" I know my answer was uncertain. I'm just so nervous I can't bring myself to speak the truth. We both laughed awkwardly; the laugh was awkward but it actually erased the tension.

"I heard you really love swimming just like Nanase-senpai." How I am so pathetic. "No, don't compare me to that water-freak." He laughed weakly. "Tell me more about you?" I lifted one of my shoulder to look confident in front of him. Though I'm so nervous and embarrassed I could faint. "Good idea,"

THIRD PERSON POV

Their conversation continues smoothly after they adjust themselves to the pace of the conversation.

She looked out through the window after maybe, hours, not doing so. The blue sky repainted by another color; a breathtaking orange color—tinged with yellow and red color. "Beautiful."She muttered in a voice barely inaudible. "Wait. It's this late already?!" She turned her head to take a good look at him. "Time sure passed by." His smile was meaningful, almost ambiguous. "I have to go home, let's meet again." She gave him a slight nod before standing up and he grabbed her hand before it's too late.

"U-um?" Her eyes looking straight at his hand on hers, feeling much more nervous then when he came here. "I must walk you home." He put a little stress on the word 'must' while she thought walking her home wasn't so important. With eyes full of determination and courage, she can't say no. "Okay."
