Samezuka's School Play (pt.1)

(Y/N)'s POV

The after school sunset laid a breathtaking hue of crimson and orange tones, very beautiful to see after a hard day at school, if only I had time to relax.

     About an hour ago, Rin called me and told me I have to meet him at a nearby cafe around Iwatobi and I agreed with him, besides, I missed him already. I walked by my own to that cafe while Rin said he's arrived at the cafe, so I'm a bit scurried and ruined my uniform and hair.

     When I open the door, I saw Rin sitting on a seat near the big window inside the cafe. Happy, I approached him and surprised him a little bit, making him jumped from his seat. I took a seat in front of him so I could get a better look of my boyfriend until I realized, there is something wrong.

     So I told him to tell everything that bothered him lately. And so, that's how I got into this mess.

     Samezuka will hold an annual school festival and this year, with a school play. Rin was forced to be the main character in the story and there should be a woman that supposed to be his lover. Because Samezuka is an all-boys-school, they need some female outsiders to continue the school play idea.

     The story is about the Japanese Sengoku Era (15th - 16th century); Rin will play as Sanada Yukimura (i know sengoku basara. i know) and he wants me to play as his lover, Akihime, a foster-daughter of Otani Yoshitsugu. I suppose in the real history it's not lover but just, wife (oh, you know how people works on noble marriages). The main genre of this play is historical and romance. One of the senior female teacher in Samezuka wrote the script, so maybe there are no one who would even want to bother that senior.

     Because of his pleading face, I can't say no.

END OF FLASHBACK

     Now here I am, under the beautiful rare sunset sitting on a little chair in Samezuka High. I looked around my surroundings and see most of Samezuka's students are busy, even though the festival is still a month from now.

     That's good. I guess.

     Then there I saw Rin with a bundle of papers—maybe it's his script. I thought Rin is not the kind of person that will be serious on things like this but I guess, I was wrong. The rare solemn expression painted on his face; filling my heart with an unknown warmth.

     "(y/n), would you please come here for a moment?" Rin shouted from the place he was standing and so I approached him. "Yes?" I smiled at him and also to the people around him.

     "Ah, this is m-m-my girlfriend, (l/n) (y/n). I asked her to be Akihime." Rin started as he averted his eyes to hide the embarrassment. "Oh, nice to meet you, (l/n). I'm the scriptwriter, (her last name) (her first name)." She nodded a little then I bowed. "N-nice to meet you too Mrs. (her last name)." Her icy glare makes me look downward. Now I know why there are no one who doubted her or even 'say no'.

     "Would you please stand there and don't move, miss?" She said and smiled—her eyes aren't smiling. "S-sure." I chuckled nervously, not knowing what to do. After that, she walked around me with one of her hand propping her head. "She's beautiful enough to be Akihime. Matsuoka, I know I could trust you." She said. Her voice piercing through my body, sending me chills down my spine. "You had such a good taste for a woman." With that, she left us alone.

     "What was that." Still glued to the ground I glance at Rin who was also glued. "She was... checking you, I guess." He said and combed his hair with his right hand. "Are you okay with this, babe?" Rin asked with a concerned look.

     At first, I was going to complain but now I guess, no.

     "Don't you dare giving me that kind of look on your face." I snickered and cupped his face with both of my hands and squeezed his cheeks. "Ow, ow!" Then I let go while still laughing endlessly. "Lovebirds," A deep voice said; I get startled and moved back in embarrassment. "Ah, Sosuke." Rin coughed a little—maybe he tried to cover his embarrassed tone. "Flirting in an all-boys-school is pretty strange, to be honest." Sosuke said with no expression popping out from his face. "Precisely."

     "By the way, I'm here to inform your girl that she will start practicing with us starting from tomorrow as Akihime." Sosuke said while glancing at me for few seconds. "What? I also had school tomorrow!" I said, a bit panicked.  "Of course it would be after school." He said with a little chuckle. I don't even know what's so funny.

      "What's so funny?"

      "You being a little dumb, heh."

     "...the hell?"

     "Now, now." Rin pulled me back by my hand and stood in front of me. "Sosuke, don't be so rude to my girl." Rin laughed nervously as he punched the end of Sosuke's shoulder. "I'm just kidding," He laughed and glancing at me. "I'm sorry, Rin's precious girl." Sosuke smiled gently; just like Mrs. (her last name), the ends of the lips are curving upwards but the eyes aren't smiling. "Yeah, pardon myself too." I looked away in embarrassment while furrowing my brows a little. "So, (y/n), I will take you home today, okay?" Rin looked at me from his shoulder. I nodded and smile happily knowing that I will have another alone time with my boyfriend.

     And so, the start of the Samezuka Festival is here.
