BEING ARRESTED WAS PRETTY INTERESTING. It was about the thrill and the adrenaline to Bek — especially, when she had to break out. Bek had to do it multiple times. Speaking of getting arrested — Bek and Sam were caught at a crime scene that made them look guilty, so there they were. In their own rooms, waiting for a detective to come
speak to them.

"Thought you might be thirsty." A detective enters the room with a cup of coffee and sets it down in front of Sam's chair. He was currently standing. "I'm assuming you're the good cop, so where is the bad cop?" Asks Sam.

"He's with your brother. Soon to be with Bek since he's questioning her as well." She answers.

"Okay. And you're holding us why?" Asks Sam.

"Well, he's being held on suspicion of murder. You and the girl? We'll see." Sam places the palm of his hands on the table and leans forward, shocked. "Murder?"

"You sound genuinely surprised. Or are you that good of an actor?" She asks.

"Who is he supposed to have murdered?"

"We'll get around to that."

"You can't hold us here without formal charges." Sam stands up with the shake of his head. "Actually, we can for 48 hours. You, being a prelaw student, would know that. I know all about you, Sam. You're twenty-three years old," she says and flips through the file in her hands, "No job, no home address. Your mother died when you were a baby. Your fathers whereabouts are unknown. And then there's the case of your brother, Dean, whose demise was, well, just a little bit exaggerated. Feel free to jump in whenever you like. Shy? No problem. I'll keep going. Your family moved around a lot when you were a kid. Despite that, you were a straight A student. Got into Stanford with a full ride," she closes the file and stared at him, "Then a year ago, there was a fire in your apartment. One fatality — Jessica Moore, your girlfriend. After she died, you fell off the grid, left behind everything."

"I needed some time off . . . to deal. So i'm taking a road trip with my brother and our friend." Sam says calmly.

"How's that going for you?" She asks.

"Great. I mean . . . we saw the second largest ball of twine in the continental U.S. Awesome." Sam grins and pulls out a chair, turning it around and he sits in it. "We ran Dean's fingerprints through IAFIS. Got over a dozen possible hits." She says.
